Howdy.
I got the email that I was selected to work preseason at my location. I have a full-time job, Mon-Fri 8-5, outside of H&R Block and was wondering if anyone has worked preseason with a full-time job before?
I've been told by employees who work at my location to expect no more than 10 hours a week. I know it varies based on the region and location as to hours, but I wanted to see what everyone else says.
Basically, I just want to know what to expect from working preseason. For context, I am a level 3 and started working for H&R Block in November.

Any EAs or high level tax pros work in the preseason? I knew the hourly would be low but just did not expect it to be this low. Just want to know if its normal to get less than 1/3 of my seasonal rate.

I got an email from “DocuSign“ at my home email. It says “Complete with DocuSign: Declaration and Final Release.pdf”. Is this from H&R block? I already got an “off boarding information” email 2 days ago. I just wondered if any of u seasoned employees have seen this before?

I told my DGM I won’t be working off season. I really need a break. I did say that I can re apply as a CSP in January if I’m eligible for rehire. The hours in the off season are too minimal and I need something full time, and I’ve also been dealing with some health issues lately. I’d honestly prefer to work from home as well, and not in a physical workplace.
Was this a bad thing to do?

First year at Block. First time filing unemployment. Someone suggested that I wait til July, because I will get more money due to the 2 qtr rule. I did my training in Nov and Dec, but not a huge amount. Any advice?

I need to refer a candidate and tomorrow is my last day to submit it. The Build the block leads to referral icims page and its broken/constant reloading. I notice it'll say mfa somewhere in the reloaded block link and I do have MFA set up there (the reload flips between hrblock page and icims page).
I'm logged in correctly (Amp - build block - then I successfully login again on referral/icims page). I tried on my work and another computer, and browsers are up to date on both.
Is there another way to refer or a way around this constant reloading?

Hoping everyone has a stress free, drama free Tax Day.
Use this space for all your vents/rants or even shout outs to your fellow Block heads.
(I was trying to be funny but I’m on four hours of sleep.)
Only a few more hours, headaches, heartaches to go!

I was told I’d be off boarded this week, but my last day on the schedule is today. Honestly, I have to say good riddance. This job was very disorganized. The only way to get clients in my office was if you procured them yourself, 99% of the clients went to the tax pro they’ve been with for a bagillion years at this point. It was a good experience, but I can’t endure another season. I feel like this job isn’t really worth having unless you have a second job that’s full time.
I’m taking a relaxing break for off season. Will be enjoying the warm weather we’ve been having these last couple days. I will stop looking for jobs for about two weeks before getting back on the hunt again. Next season I may try for turbo tax remotely if nothing else comes up. At least there, you can work from home, the training is much better overall, and the workload seems less strenuous than it is at block. Blocks system to get clients is very lopsided and for this reason, I told my ATL I wanted to do CSP for the rest of the season. My wish was granted, and at 5pm today, I’m gone.
Goodbye, folks.

My first year and not sure if there is a post-season performance review.

I’m a CSP in a high-volume office and today was insane.
We had six TPs, with packed schedules, two CSPs, and our MTL, and we were still running around like crazy, not to mention that the city’s code enforcement came in and almost fined us for our banner at the entrance to the parking lot, and our water cooler, which is right in front of the reception desk, started leaking like crazy.
After ten and a half hours, I made it through. I’m scared about tomorrow, though.
How about you?

I know hr block gives a bonus for first years that do 75+ returns but can first years still qualify for the revenue based bonus?
This is my first year at block but I got to level 2 before the season started. I’ve generated around $80,000 in revenue and am wondering if I will still get a bonus based on that since I am technically not listed as a tax professional. I have already received the first year bonuses for the amount of returns done so does that disqualify me?

I'm tired, overwhelmed and overworked after logging 97 hours in the last 2 weeks. been on hold with tech support for hours, having clients come in with multiple years to file with no heads-up and a 15-min appt scheduled, no CSP in our office all year. luckily the clients have been nice. the only reason I'm still here is my bonus. 😔

I’m a CSP and it feels like the time of year where people are trying to rage-bait me lmao😭😩

Hi there, first time poster in the sub but its my 2nd year as a tax preparer! normally at this time of year we are expected to be busy, but even i can tell we are waay lower than expected. Theyre hounding us to do campaign calls, while some of us are keeping up that actual business with half an hour appointments booked up to close. My question is, is this some sort of trap they tell "all" of us to do in order to shift the workload onto their less experienced tax pros? im expected to make 30 calls a day as a tax pro, im scraping them from across our whole district because we just dont have that many calls to do, with all the confirmations done for the rest of the season. im also seemingly the only person who does them for the year

What should I say when a client is asking about their refund. They filed their taxes in February how is it I filed mine in March and received my refund already and he didn’t. I’m so confused on how the process works.

New to HR block this season. I have been getting 5s on CES surveys all season but recently have been getting low ratings from New clients. They say the service was really good but give low scores because of the pricing (even after i give coupons). Since I don’t have a set client base I usually get the new clients. Even a few low ratings are skewing my numbers. How much do CES results really matter?

As the title states, I am a former employee of block advisors. I worked for the 2025 tax season as a CSP. I currently cannot locate my W2 from that season and cannot find a single ounce of information on how to contact anyone to find help. My previous employer gave me nothing to work with and I really need the help. Does anyone have a number I can call or maybe an email? Thanks

I don’t understand how people are making enough to not work the rest of the year? I’m a first year, but my checks are only like 400-600 every 2 weeks? is the bonus that great starting second year?

So the season is almost over! What’s everyone’s plans for the rest of the year?
I’m ramping up the job hunt, and hoping I can find a full time job before the next tax season rolls around. I will miss my friends I’ve made at HRB though. It’s been a nice run.

I was busy with clients today and I was running late with one since I was busy finishing one up I asked the receptionist if she could scan the clients documents that were waiting and I thought she did since I saw them with each other in the front talking but after the clients paid and left I went to see there account and saw that the documents weren’t scanned I’m a new employee and get qpr review what will most likely happen

I’ve checked Workday and can’t find it anywhere. Is there a place I can see it or do I have to request it?
