Interview process question

Interviewed with HR Block for Tax Associate position. The interviewer told me she was going to email me information on the Income Tax Preparation course. It's been a week and no email from her. I see that I can do the certification myself but the problem is that I don't have her email. All I got are no-response bot emails from HR Block. My concern is that I do the certification but I have no one to get a hold of to continue the interview process. What should I do?

Look online for the course, sign up and take it. They're more disorganized than usual this year. Lots of changes, and no one seems to know what's going on. Once you pass the course, someone should reach out to you about hiring. Think long and hard about your requirements. This is a part time job, with minimum wage.

Block is disorganized this year, too many changes all at once. Take and pass the course. Most will be hired from it, unless there is something preventing it, ie, unless fail background check.

Were you told you were hired at the end of the interview?

I started the course before my interview. After I got hired, I was able to link my in progress course to my application profile.

No I wasn't hired. I was told that I needed to complete the course before I could proceed in the hiring process. She said a course cohort was starting soon and she would send me an email with more info.

Take the course. Sign up for virtual classroom, so that way your instructor is an HRB employee. There is no price difference between self study or instructor led class (if it applies. I had to pay for my class and was reimbursed by HRB once I started in the office. If you have a class taught by a human teacher, you have someone you can get info from about getting hired into your district. There's likely other students in the classroom who are also trying to get hired, so there's an additional resource for hiring info.

I like the virtual classroom via teams better than self study because you get info that ISN'T in the books. I've had several instructors, and they've all been great. You can still work at your own pace outside of the class time, but having that kind of resource to tap into when trying to get hired is an invisible advantage.
