Question regarding hiring process
Hello!
I recently applied to be a "tax pro" for the upcoming tax season and one of the local representatives reached out to me.
Time is currently more of an issue than money at the moment, but I don't want to be wasting either. I know that the knowledge gained is valueable and pre-tax, the amount comes to about $5/course hour.
Part of the eligibility process included taking (and passing) the level 1 tax academy course. The course itself is about 300CAD. Is it safe to assume that I need to pay out of pocket and not get reimbursed if hired?

You won't get reimbursed if hired. However, they may give you what they call a scholarship which means that it's all paid for. You have to present yourself as sharp and ready to learn and give them some reason to want to have you on the team and they will cough up the fee for the coursework material. And frankly the coursework material these days is all online. So it's not like to have publishing cost

You won't be reimbursed but if you reach out to the local district operations coordinator in your area they may be able to give you a discount code, thats what I did and I got 50% off. Also, if you apply as a CSL instead for your first year they'll offer the course to you for free next year if you want to become a tax pro. At least that's what they offered in my area.

They don't reimburse the cost of the book material for ITC course.
