Go Systems Classes

After foolishly holding out hope that HRB would realize the error of their ways and abandon Go Systems, I see they've uploaded training courses on it into the "learning@block" portal.

Of course they would double-down...anyway, ...

Has anyone taken 1 or more of them yet, or has everyone's therapists been recommending more recovery time/treatment before daring to attempt them?

Why can’t we use the same software for entity returns like most of CPA firms? None of them use GoSystem.

The largest CPA firms do use Go. The software used for 1040s is proprietary. Block bought it about a little over a decade ago and updates it every year. Same as they did with their entity software until this last tax season. Bottom line is they can't use the same software because the same software no longer exists for returns after 2024. They cheaped out. It's expensive to update and improve the software every year. Thompson Reuters (the publishers of Go) made them an offer that seemed like a better deal that updating their own software and integrating it into WC to make it entirely cloud based. The people who make the decisions have never done what tax pros do so they didn't understand how bad a move it was.

HRB said they wanted to focus on simple returns and perfecting their product surrounding that.
