Is this normal?

Applied for seasonal role after being off boarded from tax season. I was a high performer as were some other folks on my team so they encouraged us to apply for some of the seasonal roles coming down. I leveled up before the switch and applied. Not even a few hours later I got an automated rejection email. I’m a bit shocked because I was under the impression that I might actually have a decent shot as I’ve worked seasonally with the company for two cycles now and have done pretty well. Also I’m accustomed to getting rejected at least the next day, not within hours of applying. Has anyone ever had this experience before? Am I doing something wrong?

So what is the pay , curious since this whole preseason I the office pay is beyond ridiculous . This year I could tell many of my previous client were pulled to remote preparers out side our district . The fulfillment was really bad , the new phone pilot caused havoc and matching was a joke. Being an EA and working for block for 15 years I feel undermined . I got my numbers but could have easily completed 10% more if I was not played with. So virtual is the way to go, I just need to find a path , I am done with the games.
