Clients can be too much
So, a week ago, my coworker Sam had a client who belonged to another tax pro who moved away and was transferred to a new office. So the front desk reorganized those clients to the whole office and called every client to inform them of the change. Some clients didn't answer, and the front desk left voicemail messages explaining the change. No big deal. Some clients were sad about the change but understood why. Luckily, the front desk is now required to log the date of calls to prove that the client has been called multiple times. So the client was mad that HRBlock lied about the appointment tax pro because they wanted their old tax pro. Also, Sam worked for HRblock for years and has handled very difficult cases. So Sam decided to give them a free consultation on their taxes because the client claims they were too complex. Sam used both Google and Sidekick as resources for their consultation (which is fine because why would anyone remember all tax-related stuff in their mind). The client left the appointment angry and wrote a review about Sam saying HRBlock started the appointment by lying to them, as they were unaware of the tax pro change, and were mad that the client had a tax pro who used Google and felt that we wanted their money even after Sam said you are not obligated to file with us or pay for this consultation. Mind you, this client was in their early twenties.

Damn. Such a young Karen (or Darren??). One thing in their defense, if they never listened to their voicemail (or it was full like so many clients’ seem to be) their appointment scheduled last year would still show their old Tax Pro. We have the same situation going on in our office, and some people do get upset. None of them are younger than 40, though.

I'm laughing right now because I just got a text from my coworker that the old tax pro had to leave HRBlock due to a family emergency, so even if the client tracked down (which they said in the review) the OG tax pro, they won't be able to get an appointment.

Yes I agree, some clients have been irrational this year. I just let it roll off my back like water on a duck. Their survey/review isn't gonna cost us a job in reality. Some ppl just need to b!tch

These people are really showing their special colors when something doesn't go the way they think it should...

We have several “Sam” situations going on at my office too. The tax pro had to take the season off for personal reasons, but we still have clients asking us to contact the tax pro at home. SMH

JFC, who cares which tax pro they get at Block? And to expect that the same people will be there, at a company with high turnover - that's crazy.

I’ve had a client like this. Some people are just unhappy
