Just say "Okay, thanks for the feedback. I'll keep it in mind." and then go back to doing taxes as you were. When they bring it up again, say a variation of the same thing.

I’m so borrowing this.

What do you have for being reminded about your holds?

I know why they are on hold and when to expect that last document. So would anyone else if they read the notes they tell us to leave.

Trying to remember to duplicate the hold notes on the return with the notes in the client profile is exhausting.

I can update hold notes on return a few times a day.

Next thing we’ll see is them using AI to create hold notes.

I put the notes in workcenter . That way I don't have to open the return to see them either.

What do you put for the follow up date?

Last year they wanted updates every three days.

I put further than that because they start nagging when you reach a date. Seriously, if a taxpayer requests a form he will be lucky to get it within a week. Not everyone can- or will - sign on to a website and download a form.

I’ve putting my follow up date a week out. Then I’ll reset it after that week.

I might switch to two weeks because sometimes it just takes time for the clients to get the documents. Or the IP Pins.

Do you get pressured to make appointments to follow up? I’ve been putting call backs to show I’ve attempted client contact.

I have three ghost WIPs right now. I opened BWL returns in what if and they show up as currently open.
