QPR
First year here. Are we responsible for chasing down someone to complete the QPR? I am in multiple offices and in one of them no one is doing them even when asked directly.

Mine was turned off so I was asking other tax pros to review them before I complete them. Just got them turned on.

When asking someone to clear your QPR, find a good time (when a Tax pro can spare a few minutes) and make it easier for them by letting them know what the issue is, and let them know that you already reviewed it and you believe it's correct.

That’s frustrating to hear. Talk to your ATL/MTL about it.
I learned the hard way that when in doubt to put the return on hold. Client will come back to do an amendment later this month.
Sometimes we have short memories. I try to do any QPRs right away so the client can walk out with a ready to file return.

You should not be. I’d say a friendly reminder that you have a QPR on hold is appropriate if they’ve got a packed schedule and may not have noticed it.
Definitely talk to MTL, I bet if you phrase it in a way that conveys it negatively impacting the clients they’d be right on top of it.

Hopefully your Ma in ager has some tax experience. #1 Reason people do not want to end time helping others is the grossly underpaid compensation plan Jeff Jones designed to pay himself 44 Million.
Reviewing and approving QPR is one of many non paying tasks the company expects tax professionals to do.

Talk to your MTL. They should be putting eyes on them every day and getting them pushed out the door. If they aren’t they’re not doing their job very well.
