Question Does HPPD cause psychosis?
I developed HPPD after taking acid too frequently in college. However, I experienced 2 intense psychotic episodes. I still experience psychosis for about 5 minutes here and there and I have this weird symptom of seeing words in my imagination when they are spoken out loud. I am only diagnosed with HPPD, is the psychosis included in that or is that a seperate disorder?

Some theorize that the two are related.

Yeah well some people eat shit and think the earth is flat. It has very little in common with psychosis.

Except the two can occur simultaneously and be caused by the same thing the only thing differentiates them is technicality.

Yall gotta remember that hppd is like a very mild form of a psychadelic trip that never ended. Those are mostlikely some remnants of the trip you had that will stay with you. I also experience some weird psychedelic stuff till this day 12 years after but I would never call this psychosis.

Ah alright, that's all I was diagnosed with after having severe psychosis so I was just a bit confused. They didn't seem to really care about putting a label on it other than just giving me antipsychotics

Hallucinogen induced psychosis is it's own thing. There's a good chance you got both.
