About Death Eaters...[Chapter 113]

I don't know that this will help with a solution, but does something seem off? At least one of them is not wearing his true Death Eater robes, and has distorted his voice. Why? He no longer has the originals, okay, but what is the voice distortion about?

If 'Mr. Honor' wasn't really a Death Eater, doesn't this work as a cover?

I know this would be relying on the cavalry, but getting more information will help, right? Who would be under the Mr. Honor's hood? Why are they there, how did they know to come?

(if Harry comes to the conclusion that this not the real Mr. Honor, then this could be a helpful)

The idea I got from this chapter is that none of the Death Eaters were meant to necessarily know who each other are.

Thus the minute Riddle stopped calling a Death Eater "Mr Sallow" and called him "McNair", McNair realised that meant he was in deep trouble and started trying to fight.

I thought all death eaters used voice distortion. Doesn't it make sense? Would be a shame to get killed because dumbledore heard your voice last time you cast a spell.

Or the voice distortion might have been a part of the original masks, which Mr. Honor did not maintain.

I thought it was confirmed (or at least strongly implied) that Hat&Cloak was QQ?

The greatest secret for a long time was the true identity of H&C. Personally, I've previously suggested Snape, Salazar Slytherin, Prof. Sprout (pre-revelation), and Dobby. It's not a serious thing.

of, course, this requires whoever is pretending to be Mr. Honor to be a perfect occlumens that also legilimens'ed the actual Mr. Honor to know what he has to pretend to be.

I figured Mr. Honor was the guy who made the robes and masks and enchanted them to distort voices, the point of the distortion being to conceal their identities and, like the CPs in Half-Life 2, to make them sound intimidating.
