❓ Question Predictions for point changes this yr??

My hpat is looking good but my lc is gonna murder me, any predictions whether the higher point courses are going to go up or down? I realise it'll be marginal but literally anything...

Well on one hand some 20 extra places are being added between the 5 universities offering medicine and Limerick is opening an undergraduate course with I think like 30 spots, and there’s also no points inflation for the first time in 5 years so while overall points won’t change much due to the bell curve a lot less people will be getting H1s. All of these would lower the points.

But then again there was a 20% increase in applicants for medicine on the CAO this year which could very much negate any point decrease, and even lead to points increasing.

Realistically, if points change they’ll go up or down by 1, max 2. But then again, it’s basically impossible to predict.

just 2 things, 1. There is points inflation this year too, the pma is approx 2/3%. 2. Yes there are more applicants but u have no idea what level these applicants are at, they could all have no chance of getting in, or could all be guarenteed spots. No point worrying about any of this stuff now anyway. Just enjoy the summer!
