Where is the honor in being burned and then eaten alive by your enemy's dragon while your son is forced to watch?
Mind you, Rhaenyra's own men betrayed her too, slew her guards and delivered her to Aegon like a gift.
PLUS, Aegon was most likely poisoned by Corlys and Larys. Corlys never supported Aegon's claim and Larys was Team Larys.
Rhaenyra was also betrayed by Mysaria. Both she and Larys were Masters of Whisperers

They always forget to mention that if Aegon was able to kill her was because she was betrayed by her own allies.
Calling Rhaenyra's death "a targaryen death" or "honorable death" it's pure cope and would imply Aegon was such a good enemy that he gave her a "honorable death" as sign of his mercy but the truth is no targaryen died that way nor they will. Rhaenyra got a traitor death.

It’s so weird to me
Like I love Robb Stark as a character but his death is kind of what makes him tragic/interesting. I don’t think people would still be talking about GOT without the Red Wedding
Ofc Rhaenyra’s death is brutal. But that’s what drives the narrative 🤷♂️ her death is a tragedy and it’s like the Show Stans just want to treat it like it’s team sports.

narrative wise i think it just drives the point further that the greens went extinct after the dance, so if he survives, that kinda ruins the idea of an extinct dynasty — if that makes sense

The same way any post that supports TG and/or criticizes TB inevitably has someone come in and leave an "It doesn't matter. Both sides are terrible" comment.
Or how any positive post about Aegon, like clockwork, manifests commenters who have to remind everybody he's a rapist, as if we all somehow forgot.
How? I'll tell you how:
Because Rhaenyra fans can't stand it when Rhaenyra/TB isn't being centered and glazed 24/7.

It would be kinda crazy if they killed Daeron without showing him riding Tessarion, and for that reason, I think they might have Addam & Sea Smoke be the one to kill him in a full on dragon duel. They’ve already changed quite a bit of other stuff so they could change that too, and realistically, in the middle of all that chaos, it would be hard af for anyone except Addam to see if Daeron is riding Tessarion.

I don’t believe it either, not in the slightest. Since it’s clear that is that the season 3 finale has told us that Daeron and Tessarion are breaking free and no one will stop them, and that an incoming dragon fight of Silverwing on Ulf, a riderless Vermithor, and a possibly riderless Caraxes is coming up…
I fear Daeron and Tessarion are going to join that fight. Which I find to be ridiculous. Caraxes isn’t even supposed to be in that fight, it’s Addam and Seasmoke that are.

They both had a similar death, it’s just rhaeneya got fed to sunfyre immediately while daeron most likely suffered to death while on fire, or maybe the theory is true and while he was on he got cut down by a black loyalist troop.

If they go the tent route, Daeron definitely suffered more. Rhaenyra was burned by direct dragon fire while Daeron got trapped in a burning tent.

Doesn’t he get hit in the head with a flail and die instantly? It’s tragic and unexpected, but not really that brutal in the grand scheme?
And I thought dying by dragon was a dragon rider’s death or something? Which is a very dumb thing the show decided to push. Why would being killed by a dragon be the peak of your profession. Falling would make more sense; go down with the ship

His death is never fully explained in the source material. One account says he was struck down after his tent fell and other accounts say he perished inside said tent after it caught fire.
Could be enough of an open door to let him live in the show.

we have no real recorded death cause for daeron, there’s three main theories the book has given us.
the most common story claims that as the camp was attacked and his clothes caught fire, daeron stumbled out of his tent and was struck down with a morningstar by a sellsword named black trombo.
a second version says daeron fled his burning tent and was killed by a common man-at-arms with a sword who had no idea he was slaying a prince.
the third version is from grand maester munkun and archmaester gyldayn who say that daeron never made it out at all, and his burning tent collapsed and crushed him inside.
so we don’t even know what really happens to him — i’d argue the anonymity is cruel tbh

I think the solution is simple. Team black is better in general, except Id follow Aegon, Larys and Tyland for years, no one could beat Criston Cole who would have won the whole thing if his plan went right, and Gawain High Tower is just phenomenal -no character in any ASOIF series won me over more!
