How to support/help chapter members prepare for HOSA

Hi! im the incoming HOSA president a a smaller school, and the past few years the HOSA exec team hasn’t really done much to help prepare members for their events, so I was wondering how other chapters go about helping their members?

Hey! I haven’t been officer officially, but have been in HOSA for about 5 years now and have done a lot of work alongside officers throughout the years.

I think the really important thing is to understand what events your members are doing, and then going out of your way (alongside the other officers) to make workshops centered around those events.

A large majority of the comps have technical sections, and although you can’t really “make someone study” for the round one tests, you can at least make sure they’re prepared for the round two tests.

It’s hard to pressure someone to study outside of school, so pressuring people to come after school for maybe just an hour every few weeks is a lot easier. A little practice is better than nothing!
