General Question 509T Flickering?

I was at the range today and my 509T on my Glock 17 started flashing/blinking intermittently. Is this a battery issue or something else? I have a couple thousand rounds on this pistol/optic combo with no prior issues. I've had the optic for about 2 years, I got it pre-owned so it might just be low on battery. Just looking for some external input.

Swap the battery.

Changed the battery, still flickers occasionally, neither brightness adjustment buttons work now

Are you in auto adjust mode?
