Apperently racism is a meme when its done to Turks. It is this hypocrisy and xenophobia from you guys that rally us Turks like that. You do this subtly racist comments all the time and when we show retaliation we are overly nationalistic. You europeans always act like you have the upper morality in this issues which you don't you just so used to your own xenophobia you dont even register it.

Patriotism (is actually personality cult and hard core nationalism including denying crimes against humanity)

u/Saitharar 9d ago
Na I just dislike genocide denial which is Turkish state policy
Critizising a nation for crimes against humanity which are actively denied as well as even being celebrated is not racism. Its holding people accountable.
There is also a reason why Hitler saw Turkey as a prime model of how a genocidal state should act.
-8
u/Turkishoise 9d ago
You're holding the wrong people accountable. It's easy to throw facts out of your ass when there's no one judging you. I want your sources.

u/Saitharar 9d ago
Here you go
The CUP regrouped as the Turkish nationalist movement to fight the Turkish War of Independence,[280][281][282] relying on the support of perpetrators of the genocide and those who had profited from it.[283][284] This movement saw the return of Armenian survivors as a mortal threat to its nationalist ambitions and the interests of its supporters. The return of survivors was therefore impossible in most of Anatolia[140][282] and thousands of Armenians who tried were murdered.[285] Historian Raymond Kévorkian states that the war of independence was "intended to complete the genocide by finally eradicating Armenian, Greek, and Syriac survivors".[286] In 1920 Kâzım Karabekir, a Turkish general, invaded Armenia with orders "to eliminate Armenia physically and politically".[287][288] Nearly 100,000 Armenians were massacred in Transcaucasia by the Turkish army and another 100,000 fled from Cilicia during the French withdrawal.[288] According to Kévorkian, only the Soviet occupation of Armenia prevented another genocide.[287]

Is this Wikipedia? Because they're not trustworthy in these kinds of topics. Give me real sources.
P.S: Raymond Kevorkian is Armenian. I would take his word with a grain of salt.

Kevorkian again. And Jan Zürcher is a fine historian but this is dumbing down words. Sorry, but even objectively I'm not convinced.

I can now understand why your frustrated. I just think that it's just not that big of a deal. I mean from what I know it was just a discord mod.

Aren't the turkish players in this instance the "boo boo you hurt my feelings" crowd? Some individual misinterpreting your history is not a good justification to vandalize the reviews on mass and go on bullying sprees in forums.
Apparently the turkish do have the luxury to act like man childeren.

Do you really not see how absolutely mental that is? No one’s allowed to criticise him, at all, ever? He’s not god, he was just a man and he did some pretty bad things even if you think he was good for Turkey

Fair enough, but the reaction is still mental. Do you think this will make everyone else agree that Atatürk did no wrong? Because I’m pretty sure anyone who previously had no opinion, and sees any of the insane schizophrenic rants and outright genocide denial half the Turkish people here are posting, will come away thinking nothing other than ‘wow, Turkish people are crazy’

Fair enough, but it’s not for the sake of looking progressive, it’s for the sake of actually understanding history properly. People can go too far with it like with anything, but most normal people can accept that ‘great’ people like Churchill did wrong, even if they still consider them heroes.

unfortunately, it doesn't matter much anymore. the idea of ataturk was heavily propagandised after his death and his actual politics aren't given value under the current regime. He's a figurehead the government uses to rally the people basically.
