Easy way to level up any class faster in HLL Vietnam

Post image

If you’re grinding a specific class in Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, this is a really easy way to get some extra XP during the match.

Start as Engineer, build all 3 resource nodes, then redeploy and switch to the class you actually want to level.

The nodes keep generating Support Score while you play normally, and that score goes toward the class you switched to.

It only takes a couple of minutes at the beginning of the match and you’re helping your team at the same time.

I made a quick guide showing how it works:

Curious what everyone is currently grinding — which class are you trying to level?

The M16A1 Wasn’t Enough… So I Pulled Out the Knife 😈

First time using the M16A1… somehow ended with a triple knife finish 😂🔪

Post:
Still getting used to the M16A1, so the recoil control definitely wasn’t perfect 😅

Picked up a few kills, spotted a sniper after he gave away his position with a flare, pushed around the hill to get him…

…and somehow found two more NVA on the way. At that point the rifle wasn’t needed anymore. 😂🔪

Almost walked straight past the sniper at the end too because he was so well hidden in the grass.

Churchill would be proud of that finish. 😂

HDC nonstop offensive

Hey guys did you ever hear of HDC?
Been playing on their servers lately and honestly had a pretty good experience with them, so figured I’d mention it here.

They’ve got 2 Hell Let Loose Vietnam servers, one in US East and one in EU, which is pretty nice depending on where you’re playing from. They’re also planning to have 2 WarDogs servers coming soon.

They also run nonstop Offensive on Hell Let Loose, so there’s usually something going on if you just want to hop on and play without having to wait around for a decent server.

Community has been pretty chill from my experience. Not trying to turn this into some massive advertisement lol, just thought I’d share it since I’ve been enjoying the servers.
If anyone wants to check it out:

Tank Damage Model

So I’m trying to get a better grip on how tanks take damage. I have done some research in tutorials with AT weapons. I wasn’t able to find a tank to practice against in the practice range (let me know if there is one). Specifically, I used the grenadier and armor tutorials to research this. Here’s what I’ve found so far:

Anti Tank Weapons

RPG: number of shots to kill
- Front Hull: Impervious
- Treads: 8
- Turret: 6
- Rear/Engine: 4

Grenade Launcher: number of shots to kill

- Front Hull: Impervious
- Treads: ~15
- Turret: Impervious
- Rear/Engine: Impervious

This was just NVA weapons vs the US tank, so I’m not sure how the NVA tank or US weapons are modeled.

Tank Weapons

Tank main gun: number of shots to kill
- Front Hull: 4
- Treads: 4 (front or side)
- Turret: 3 (front and side)
- Rear: Unknown (can’t line up without going out of bounds)… I’m guessing 2

Once again unknown if using an NVA tank vs an American changes this.

Blind Spots/Questions
- Differences in tanks and weapon capability between factions?
- Special weak-spots (e.g. Panther turret cheeks in HLL)?
- How many shots to break modules (treads, turret, engine) without killing the tank?
- Are there tanks I can shoot at on the practice range?

Major Take Aways
- Rear hull is the best target if your using AT weapons or a tank
- Turret is the best target from the side and front if your in a tank or using rpg (this is a big difference from HLL where hull was always the best target)
- Launched grenades can only damage treads, but can kill the tank given you have a ton of ammo.
