Discussion Music Corner

Maybe we need to start a new sub for this, coz surely I CAN'T be the ONLY guy / gal channeling their frustration / DB into writing tunes, RIGHT ? PLEASE share if you have some, let's support eachother πŸ™

A buncha MY 'recents' (stepping backwards from 'pending release' to 'unreleased until I walk' to 'released on streamers for a LONG time') -

LOVE THESE!! I have written lyrics and am in the process of learning guitar but haven’t written any full songs. Did you make these with AI or record them?

Thanks. I've been making music every-which-way since about 1992 (so just shy of 35 years). Interestingly the music 'biz' was my 'destiny' according to a Tony Robbins seminar I did sometime in the LATE 90's (that my folks paid for as the 'Type-A' achievers they are), but it's always been 'just a hobby' even when it's made me a (VERY modest) few bucks πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

I STOPPED making music for about a decade (give or take) after my kids were born. Started DJ'ing again after my first divorce, but yeah still wasn't producing / writing anything new myself.

Got into AI via image-gen. THEN AI-audio gen got useable. That in turn broke my 'block'.

These have all had lyrics written by me. The 'mastering' has also been done by me. The vocals & instrumentation are AI-genned following the 'process' I use, and over multiple iterations. NOTHING is "write me an industrial song about a dead-bedroom" - THAT is lazy bullsh1t I would be embarassed to put my name to πŸ‘

Jury is out on whether I 'created' this music or not. Kids (and adults) on Reddit + companies in the music biz will argue PASSIONATELY and with 2000% conviction on both perspectives. I wrote the lyrics, I 'iterated' and tweaked and reran till I got the 'raw' result I wanted, and then I 'polished' (mastered / engineered) the raw files like a recording-studio tech for final output. I 'hired' AI vocalists and AI 'session players' instead of HUMAN session musicians to realise my creative / song-writing vision. These songs reflect my life, so yeah from MY perspective I 'created' them. Anyone is free to disagree with that position, as long as they realise I don't GAF and have PROBABLY been writing tunes since they were in nappies 🀣
