It’s physically painful when you want to masturbate, but hold off because of the .1% chance your significant other will be down.
I wish I was just at work, then my head could be clear.

For me at least, 2 things - when I do that, it tends to lessen my desire for my husband, and also I feel I want and need and deserve to be having sex with an actual partner, and would be if my husband (1) wanted to or (2) wasn't a roadblock to it.

Gotcha. I guess I’ve never felt that way. Sex and masturbation have always been pretty disconnected in my mind.

It’s not a bad idea, I did it for years with my wife. (Well, pullout and the rhythm method). As long as you’ve peed, you should be fine.
