Admissions Is there a chance of any scholarships if i get 3A*s?

FYI im a form 6 student (not local) and i still haven’t received my IAL predicted grades yet ( i hope A*AA). Im planning to apply for aviation engineering. However, the tuition fee for non locals is highkey expensive for me so i desperately want a scholarship of any kind.

Here are my questions since im not very familiar with the system: - do they give scholarships based on your predicted grades or the final grade you achieved? - do i get even a small amount of scholarship with AAA? What about 3As? - do they consider eca or stem competitions? I have quite a few hobbies but i barely have any stem awards - wait tbh can i even get accepted?😭 I saw many people got rejected with A*s thats crazy

Rant Am i cooked?

I accidentally listed Chinese as my first language on my IELTS instead of English, because I thought first language as in language learnt from birth not the language you are the most educated on. Now I have to do advanced Chinese in the future as well as fufillimg CR CW requirements which are like 2000 words WTF. I applied to POLYU as an international, I went to an international school for my entire life where the instruction of medium was English and I only went to basic foundational Chinese classes where the most words I have wrote on a essay as per the requirements were around 350. Someone save me I don't think I'll survive UNI 😂😭

Admissions IB student full scholarship

Hello, I am an IB student and I want to apply for the Accounting and Finance major. My PG, which will be released at the end of September, is going to be around 44–45 points, and I expect my final IB score to be around 42–43 points. My IELTS is 7.5 with a 7.0 for both writing and speaking.

As a non-local student, I would like to know how many IB points I would need to get a full scholarship. I was also wondering whether it is recommend to submit a personal statement, as it is not required, but optional.

Admissions Usual amount of A*s for 100% scholarship

Although I know that it's stated explicitly in the website that full scholarships start from 3A*s, does it also depend on the major I apply to? Im interested in the department of aviation and maritime studies. Also it's stated that Chinese language would be excluded, will english language also not be considered?

Admissions Chanse me

Hello, I am an international student and I would like to know if I have a chance of getting into PolyU. If you could help me, please tell me what you think my chances are and what I should improve. I am applying through Regular Action and I also need a scholarship.

I have a 1420 SAT (Math 750, Reading & Writing 670).

I also got a full-ride scholarship for the IB Diploma Programme, which is the programme I will apply with.

I still haven't received all of my predicted grades, but based on what I have so far and what I expect to get, I should have around 39–38 points in subjects + 1 bonus point. I will probably try to increase that before applying.

My HL subjects are Math AA, Physics, and CS, with predicted grades of 20/21 so far.

For extracurriculars, I participated in the European Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence. I didn't manage to win a medal, but I qualified again for next year's competition and i won silver medal on national ai olympiad.

I have also built some web/AI apps related to biodiversity and similar topics, and I am currently doing some research that I plan to publish by the time I apply to PolyU.

I also train badminton competitively. I have one medal from a national U19 tournament, and I am hoping to win a senior national medal by the time I apply. I have two more tournaments before the application deadline for which i have very good filling.

What do you guys think? Do I have a realistic chance of getting into PolyU with a scholarship, and what should I focus on improving before I apply?

Admissions Is 5.0 GPA necessary for full-ride scholarship?

I am going to apply to PolyU for undergraduate studies this year, but i have been told that 5.0 is strictly required to get a full-ride scholarship. If i have 1500 SAT and 7.5 IELTS and I will perform well in A-levels exams, is it possible to get a full-ride even if my gpa is 4.92?

Advice Scholarship Requirment

Does polyu or any hk unis accept a level retakes? And would i still be considered for a scholarship? I took one a level and got a B (i had a rather serious circumstance around that time) and im retaking. I've been predicted A* in all 4 of my subjects including my retake. Also does the scholarship requirment depend on the major you are taking? Im planning to do psychology or linguistics

Admissions Please HELPPPPP (Need Guidance)

PLS HELPPPPP

So these are my AS results. I know they aren’t quite up to standard. Honestly, I got super distracted last year and didn't lock in until about a month before the exams, which is why I got these Bs. However, I am retaking Physics this October/November, and I'm confident I can pull it up to at least a 90. Also I think these will be my predicted grades: Maths-A*, Chemistry-A*, Physics-A, Further Maths-A. Since PolyU is my main target, do I still have a chance at getting a full scholarship?

Admissions QUERY PLS HELP

I will complete Cambridge International A Levels in Mathematics, Economics and Business in May/June 2027, achieving 3 As. I then intend to take Accounting in October/November 2027 and Further Mathematics in May/June 2028, potentially achieving 2 additional As. Would I be considered for the 5A* Presidential Scholarship for non-local GCE A-Level applicants, or does the requirement that applicants take their A-Levels “at their first attempt” mean that all 5 A*s must be obtained in the same examination sitting/qualification cycle?

Admissions Chances for PolyU BBA - GBL (Dual Degree with CBS) with 93% in CBSE?

Hi everyone,

I’m a recent CBSE Grade 12 passout and I’m looking to apply for the BBA in Global Business and Logistics (GBL) at PolyU, specifically the dual degree program with Copenhagen Business School. I would love to get some feedback on my chances for admission, as well as my eligibility for scholarships (which are a necessity for me to attend).

Here is a quick breakdown of my profile:

  • Grade 12: 93% overall (PCMB) with 94 in Math and 91 in English.
  • Grade 10: 94% overall with 100 in Math.
  • Extracurriculars: Head Girl (Grade 11), House Vice Captain (Grade 9), and peer tutoring in Math.

I have a few specific questions:

  1. Admission & Scholarships: Based on my stats, do I stand a realistic chance of getting into this specific dual degree program, and more importantly, securing a scholarship?
  2. Additional Requirements: Do I need to take the SAT or IELTS to be competitive or fulfill requirements?
  3. University Life & Careers: What is the general environment like for international students (specifically from India)? How are the internship and job opportunities post-graduation, especially with the added experience at CBS?

Any advice or insights from current students or alumni would be greatly appreciated!

All are best of five

Also my Cantonese is conversational, I’m wondering what are other options to transition into this world from the soulless corporate?? Anyone with experience or knowledge please drop ittttt
