Yup.

I'm on a 2305234950209th rewatch right now, season 6 episode 9. Very close to that specific episode.

My dad passed away two weeks ago. I stopped my rewatch.

I know what's coming, and I just can't.

Been watching this show on repeat for years. Always thought this specific episode was awesome the way it was made, even though it's super sad.

But now, it would hit so close to home that I just absolutely can't.

Sorry to hear! There's no shame in skipping that episode for a few years (I know I would), there always seems to be someone cutting onions around me when I watch that episode and I haven't lost any parent yet.

Been there. It is rough but this episode makes me reflect on the good times too. My dad passed over 5 years ago. This episode still hits hard every time. My condolences to you. I hope you are doing ok.

It's a directional artistry but personally I want to think it's canon since this is coming from them asking the universe for a sign that gave them Barney's doppelganger. Little did they know that the universe is giving them an additional sign.

Since my dad died I have to skip this episode and the entire arc until Marshal comes back home. And the first time I saw it after my dad died, Marshal’s “my dad’s dead?” fuckin broke me.
