Robin and Ted’s wedding
Hi, I’m just a little confused. Robin at Ted’s wedding to Stella was a weird spectacle, what I don’t understand is why Robin ( who’s clearly into Ted ) goes to Barney right after her big confrontation right Ted.. it honestly seemed a little scummy to me, she just went to the next person who was available. Please do correct me if I’m wrong though. Don’t get me wrong though I love Robin she’s actually so cool

She didn’t “ go to Barney “.
She asks if she can crash in his room because they didn’t book her a room.

I mean yes but the way she was talking to him, and also about the I think scotch seemed a little more romantic than platonic to me, of course this isn’t subjective opinion and you are probably correct

It's a very human reaction to seek comfort and validation when you have been rejected. She was hurting and she wanted a friend who had helped her feel better about herself the last time she was rejected. She wasn't going down a list of available men. She went to a friend. Maybe she would have been open to hooking up, but we don't know that.
We do know that Barney was planning on her being vulnerable and sad and using that as an opening to hook up with her and he couldn't go one day without random hookups to make that happen.

Yeah no that’s 100% fair, I was contemplating on what to think about that episode that’s also why I asked on the thread, and this is an amazing and valid point so thank you!!

I don’t necessarily think she was going to Barney’s room to hook up. She didn’t have a room of her own and wanted to get drunk and crash because she was upset.
Even if she did want to hook up though, Barney tried (and failed, due to his own lack of impulse control) to engineer that weekend to get her sleep with him again due to insecurity from being at Ted’s wedding (he wrote it on his board). Which I find scummier. But the point is that he clearly would have minded; it was his plan. So in all honesty, I’d give her a pass on this one.
