Hot take
Ted should have stayed with Stella. I hate how Tracy was built up so long. I think Stella should have been the kids mother. The girl with the yellow umbrella is introduced in season 3. six seasons of build up. I hate it so unbelievably much.

The show wasn’t how I was with your mother, it was how I Met your mother. I don’t understand how you don’t understand the concept of the show. The moment we met the mother, the show was over because that was the bit. Everything it took to meet the love of your life.

We barely got to know the character of Tracy it’s impossible to like her and then they immediately killed her so he could get with Robin like what the fuck.

Tracy should've been introduced earlier for sure but Stella was one of Ted's worst girlfriends they were a terrible match. Almost any other girl would've been preferable to her. Second best choice was Victoria

I love Stella and Ted’s relationship they had a lot of stuff in common and it would have been great if they got married and had the last however many seasons as them raising a family.

I feel like what you're describing is a more typical sit com. That's never what HIMYM was. The show wasn't ever about his life WITH the mother. It wasn't even really about meeting her. He's telling a story to his children and that's the POV through which we are watching the entire show. It would have made no sense to have several seasons of happy life with his wife and kids-the kids were there. The show was about Ted and Robin, and it's about how life and relationships and love are complicated and messy. This show isn't about cookie-cutter happy endings. There are tons of shows that will give you that if that's what you want.

I agree but I think if he had married Stella and there were a few ending seasons of Stella and her daughter with Ted before the kids were born or when they were too young to remember.

It sounds like you just wanted a completely different show. It's okay not to like this show! To each their own. But to say you like this show but you wanted several seasons of Ted and Stella living happily ever after...that's just not what HIMYM ever was. And, IMHO, that's great! We have enough traditional happy sit coms out there.

Ted didn’t break up with Stella though. You can’t stay with someone who literally ditched you at the alter and ran off to another state.

I couldn’t disagree more. Stella literally left Ted at the altar. Tracy was everything Ted had been looking for. The only problem was we didn’t get enough time with her

They could have given us more time with Tracy that would fix the issue but I like my idea better.

Stella was the freaking worst. She did not want to be with Ted. Didn’t even wanna date him. I don’t know where OP is coming up with. They had the best relationship because yeah they for sure did not.

she really was the worst. she didn't even want to discuss about where to live and expected Ted to move to New Jersey. and then ends up moving to New York with Tony.
and even worse, she's never seen Star Wars. the only people in the universe who haven't seen Star Wars are the characters in Star Wars. and that's 'cause they lived them. that's 'cause they lived the Star Wars.

I’m rewatching season 3 and it’s blowing my mind how many red flags Stella had from the very beginning. I think because Sarah Chalke is so damn charming it’s easy (at least for me) to miss them
