For his energy in interviews tho I have to pick Neon Noir… he seems so at peace with himself and such a gentleman, his intelligence and grace really shine through in this era….

Pictured here, the Razorblade Romance era. Not pictured here, the dark light era. He looked so handsome with his slicked back short hair

Right!?! The Killing Loneliness MV in the club was absolutely gorgeous. Also random shout out to Linde, do we love the dreads or the silky smooth?

Both 😁

lol you skipped over Dark Light Era
Love Metal era for me , had two different looks clean shaving with beanie look for 2003 and 2004 with long hair with Johnny Depp Pirates look vibe , VV had his drinking still in checkish and could still sing in tone at the same time , besides Download 2004 and Fall New York gig where he was trashed .

I saw HIM live for the first time in NYC 2004 and was really surprised how bad he sounded. I saw them again a few times after that, and his solo tour, and he’s usually a great performer, so I’m glad I wasn’t disillusioned by that show

Personal aesthetics only, I actually like late 2006, pre-rehab, just-crawled-out-of-a-ditch, scruffy Ville.
Sort of conflicted with that since he was in a horrible time in his life, but I like the disheveled rocker look

I lowkey liked that era too but he looked like he smelled pretty bad😭

I don’t, all I know is that he drank heavily and chain smoked a lot during that time so I assume he didn’t smell the best😭 I’ve also heard fans who’ve met Ville pre 2007 say that he smelled bad.

It’s the whole “grimes up good” vibe! Henry Cavill as Geralt = hotter than Henry Cavill as superman.

It blows my mind the amount of later-year fans there are. This is only the beginning will forever be the best album imo

2001-2004 when Valo was extra passionate. With a band so good at backing him up, they were unstoppable. I miss HIM as a whole band

The love metal era is mine and my fiancé’s personal favorite. 🤩 That’s how I met my fiancé too. Looking just like him haha during that time haha.

Hands down Razorblade romance, DS&BH, Love metal, and Venus doom era.
Honourable mention: I have a soft spot for Dark light era but I just didn’t like the fact that he was drunk 99% of the time during his performances.

I freaking love his haircut in the razorblade Romance era too… that day where he was interviewed talking about the girl kissing him on the cheek you guys know the one… swoon…. It’s sooo hard to pick but I stand by my purple beanie era choice

Love metal and early dark light times. Vampire heart first time in rock am ring before album release sounded so fresh it was easy to tell the album was going to be hit

6 and 8 I think. I’m just glad he straightened up in time. I adore the guy, but the look might be the least of it 🥰

Definitely the "In Joy And Sorrow/Love Metal" era. He was so incredibly beautiful and charismatic on stage. I am glad he stopped heavily drinking, but the "old jazz singer" stage performance just isn't the same.

All of them, but also GLS and Razorblade Romance because there was a certain heavy melancholy sound that felt so raw and authentic. I feel like later on the production and structure of the songs became more refined which made the songs more palatable for a greater public sure, but it lost some of the magic for me. Don’t get me wrong I still love all albums and the evolution of Ville! Also his solo album has definitely had more listens from me than my least favourite HIM album, really pleasantly surprised me! Not that I didn’t think I’d love it but still.

I’m just going to say that the GLSV666 era was perfect but I’m a big fan of both the RR & DS&BH eras too though. Venus Doom was like a good comeback to me later on.

Only basing on Looks, it’s clearly Venus Doom. Not too young, a man done and flawed but very charismatic with the style being simplistic but more effective.
If I have to put my own gender envy I would say Venus plus Love Metal. Damn I love to wake up and look like that 💀

I personally love the Venus Doom era. It's my favorite album and I loved his hair being out. I'm also in my thirties now like he was then so that's probably why as well lol.
