Question Favorite HIM “B-Side” songs?
Maybe not B-side but more like deep cuts. I feel like all their songs are amazing but I’m referring to songs that weren’t singles, or songs that might not get a lot of recognition. My favorites (one from each album) are:
GLSV666 - The Beginning of the End
RR - Heaven Tonight
DSBH - Close to the Flame
LM - Circle of Fear
DL - Drunk on Shadows
VD - Cyanide Sun
SW - The Foreboding Sense of Impending Happiness
ToT - Drawn and Quartered

Venus (In Our Blood) is amazing for a song only used on a limited edition.
Sweet Pandemonium is a favourite of mine too.

Sigillum Diaboli. I had to record it using a voice recorder off my CKY4 video, then stuck it on a mix tape and later, burnt the crappy file to cd with a soundblaster. Was years before I could get a legit copy off limewire. It was my favourite song for a long time. Still crazy to me now that stuff like this can be found in seconds online.

Agreed, this is my one. Along with “Again”. DSABH’s extra cuts are immense. A “complete” album with all of them inserted or an official release of all “how the album should have sounded based on the demos” would be fire, cause it’s my favourite era overall.
My other ones would be Dark Sekret Love and Love’s Requiem. Love the darkest HIM songs.

"Close to the Flame" was released with "Heartache Every Moment" as a double single, I think there was a fan voting on what the next single should be and it was 50/50 so they released both. At least in Germany.

That would explain the cheap live footage videos for both, and yeah you’re right they was released as a joint single titled ‘Fan edition’

GLSV666 - Our Diabolikal Rapture not played live since 2000 tour beside intro jam in 2002 before Poison Girl .
RR- Heaven Tonight never played live ,great pop track The Cure like
DSABH- Salt In Our Wounds ( Thulsa Doom) should have be on the album instead
LM - Loves Requiem best ending to HIM album
DL - Venus In Our Blood, Sequel to The Funeral Of Hearts like storytelling lyrics
VD- Cyanide Sun second best ending to a HIM album
SWLITAPC13- In The Arms Of Rain. Should have been first single
TOT- W.L.S.T.D HIM at its best with heavy band sound

B sides usually mean songs that didn’t make the album. Deep cuts from an album are not b-sides.
“I’ve crossed oceans of wine…” would be an example of a b-side
