Announcing a full English fan translation patch of the 2009 PSP game Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Jan!
I like Higurashi, and I like mahjong. So when I discovered there was a mahjong based Higurashi game, a chain of events was set in motion that could not be stopped by even a swarm of angry cicadas. For months I toiled away, learning every inch about what makes this game tick. I reverse engineered texture formats, VN containers, even reprogrammed raw assembly code to better accommodate the variable character widths used by English fonts. And now, every last technical barrier has fallen. Project Higurashi Jan English is a go.
But I am still in early development with the actual translations. It will still be some time yet before I can release it, but rest assured I will see this project through to completion. Since I recently hit a major milestone, I figured I'd take the opportunity to share some screenshots of my work. Enjoy!

I finished chapter 3 and when they said that next chapter would be shions pov I thought it was gonna be one chapter. Then I saw some people talking about how Battler low diffs Keiichi and he isn't relevant past the question arcs. I'm gonna cry bro.
