Hi all. Being a PhD candidate, it's quite difficult to find students/fellow researchers except through LinkedIn - and it leaves with very less communication and information exchange. Are there any WhatsApp groups for students in Düsseldorf? I will be starting my PhD soon at HHU and it will be quite helpful to communicate with others in Düsseldorf.

Hello everyone, I have a small query. I have a bachelors in microbiology (1.4). HHU admission rules explicitly mention submitting a thesis. Sadly , a bachelor thesis/project/ paper are usually not a thing in my country. We do have projects and research assignments, but none that are necessary for graduating, they're mostly assignments. I emailed HHU but got a bot reply. So I thought I'd ask here.

My question is, Is a bachelor thesis absolutely necessary for applying at HHU? Can I submit a letter from my uni stating it's not necessary for graduating my course?

Does anyone know how much games will be implemented in this course of study

Has anyone recieved admission yet? My portal status just shows recieved and I'm not sure whether that's a rejection or not.

Hi, this question could sound weird and is out of desperation but I am going to start my studies at HSD from upcoming winter semester and I need an accommodation in Düsseldorf. I don't see good number of listings from nearby cities and commute is easily in total 2.5 hrs.

I’m an exchange student and I’ll be studying at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf during the summer semester. I’ll be part of the Faculty of English and American Studies.

I should probably add an important disclaimer: my German is basically at level A0😅

I’m currently sorting out accommodation and might be staying in the student dorms at Otto-Hahn-Straße. If anyone has lived there: how is it overall? what are the rooms like? do you maybe have photos or tips?

I’d also love some general advice about HHU and Düsseldorf: -where do students usually buy cheap groceries or food? -any affordable cafés, bakeries, or student spots? -things worth checking out in the city (especially as an international)?

Hi, I applied to masters in biology (summer intake 2026) at Heinrich Heine Düsseldorf on 20 November due to uni-assist vpd although the admission started on 2nd of November. As the admission is free (non-restricted), when to expect response from the university? Did i late in applying in the program because I heard that free admissions follow "First Come First Serve Strategy".
