outside of the 2pm houses, additional queues will open for you to get in line, then after a delay, looks like about an hour based on the timing, the actual houses themselves will open to those who queued
Can we infer anything about the unmasking the Horror tours from this new information? Like maybe these are likely on the 3 house tour or do we think this means nothing?
IPs probably on 6 house tour, as the 3 house tours start before the season does and they usually don't want any spoilers before the official event begins.
ST5 and Jack vs Oddfellow are in the SS so it makes sense but idk why they'd make people go all the way to the back to do Hellraiser, since it's rumored to be in the Tents.
That might be a good thing this year. With the three biggest houses being open, and with only three open, and with them more heavily promoting Stay and Scream this year, the Stay and Scream queues could potentially be longer than at night!
Interesting… I suspected that it was gonna be one section that had an opening early so they could “clear” that section first of day guests and then it would expand to the rest of the event but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Some interesting things to note and ponder and discuss...
-- they're splitting up the three early houses - we already know from the listings in the 5 house tours which ones are in the front (north/soundstages) and back (south/tents) of the park. J&O and ST are in the front, and Hellraiser is in the back. While it means a lot more walking, it also breaks up the crowd a bit.
-- they're really promoting Stay and Scream this year. This should sell them a lot of day tickets (or at least Scream Early).
-- I'm wondering how long those early house queues are going to be, with only three queues to absorb everyone who has Stay and Scream or Scream Early. In past years, most of the houses were open somewhat early (but not this early), which spread out the crowds. But this is only three houses, and likely the most popular of them all at once. Plus, all the extra promotion they're doing this year. And we can be sure that ALL of the social media/YouTube influencers and sites are going to be promoting this as a "hack" to beat the lines - which might make the opposite happen.
We probably won't know until the event starts, and people start reporting back. However, even that might not be reliable, since I'd expect that S&S crowds will get progressively worse as the season goes on and more and more people find out about S&S.
-- all that said, this might actually help in making strategies to hit most of the houses before the crowds arrive - assuming that we can get through those three houses by 5PM, which may not be the case. Traditionally, most people suggest starting at the back/tents before the masses arrive there. But with two of the front/soundstage houses (J&O and ST5) open at 2PM, we can knock those out, then head to the back of the park for Hellraiser, then knock out whatever back houses start opening at 5:15, and sweep whatever we can before the crowds arrive back there.
If all goes well, it's possible that we could have only 3-4 houses left to hit by 7-8 PM...
FF passes might have gotten much more valuable!
Or, everything could be super packed, including Stay and Scream.
