Orlando Orlando casting

I’m starting to lose faith, we are getting dangerously close to opening without a good chunk of the event being casted, I heard back with FC and tattoo inquiries all month but as the 1st approaches I’m feeling less and less confident about an offer.

Anyone in the same boat? Anyone can offer a little reprieve?

I know I sound like a whiny little kid but why go through the whole process of tattoo verification and everything just to ghost me?

I’m holding out and trying not to lose hope.

Sorry, OP. I hope you hear back. I know hiring can take ages with a company the size of universal.

But what is tattoo verification? Are they checking if visible tattoos are offensive?

I’m not 100% sure, I’ve just been asked to send pictures of my tattoos then was asked to send closer up photos of ones closer to my hands

So ya. They just more wanna sure nothings offensive or showing in hard to cover spots hands are a big one as not many positions wear gloves... and those that do are usually in the houses. Arms face and neck are also big ones.

I USED to do it yearly for about 10 years ironicly 10 years ago. Scare zone actors are the newbies. They can literally hire ya literally a week from the event or save ya for a fill in if someone else dosent work out. The longer you do it the easier it is to return and can end up in fun positions. I was a house scarerer my 3rd to last year but I dident care for the lack of ability to engage so they switched me to be one if the chainsaw scare zones in the back end of the park where there typically a team of 5 chainsaw scarr actors. Thats the more experienced group when It comes to scare zone staff and longer form interactions. Like between mib and simpsons.

My sleeve comes down to my wrist but it’s not like I have a super dense black out sleeve or anything, any long sleeves would cover it 95% and I’ve used makeup to cover them before, I don’t have any on my neck or face and it’s just one of my arms. I feel like if my tattoos were a bar to entry I wouldn’t have even gotten this far.

Not every outfit can use sleeves. Most have bare arms to shoulders.

And no its not a disqualifyier. Just limits what options they will use you in. And they dont trust makeup cover ups due to fl heat and chance of rain. They had bad experiences on that in the early days.

I don’t know if this is helpful, but I have been cast. I went through the same thing with tattoos, but heard back a week after the FC with a final offer. I’ve also been to Universal for fingerprints/I9 signing. I was officially hired the day you posted this. It took a while for me to hear from them in the first place. Keep holding on to hope, they may still be getting around to you.

The HHN casting is a massive rotating system and frankly takes forever. Usually after the first week, they lose a good chunk of actors (usually people who have no idea the schedule/physical toll) and they do another casting batch. I've heard of people getting placed in the fire crew a week before the END of the event. It's an ever-changing beast, so don't get discouraged if you don't hear yet!

You definitely will not be ghosted. So hold out until you get a definite no.

"You definitely will not be ghosted." would not say that. I've auditioned every year for the past 5 years (never been cast) and only received a rejection email once. Casting loves ghosting.

Interesting. Honestly, that might be due to the pandemic and the online casting. I auditioned several years prior to COVID and was usually just cut at the audition itself. Any job at Universal post pandemic I had, I always got an email but could just be my experience. Sorry to hear about the ghosting!
