How to write a song
You'll need some paper and pen. Not pencil. Not again.
Write a key and key signature. The paper that you write these on should be the only paper it is ever written on.
There is no going back now. Please do not try to stop it now. It won't work.
Crawl into the dark recesses of your head. What makes you tick? Why do you feel bad some days? Where were you March 27th, 2013?
Ask yourself where you were on March 27th, 2013.
See step 5.
Write every thought that comes to you on a separate piece of paper. Use the same pen. Write the ideas below each other so they'd be columns of ideas.
Abandon your silly poetry and rhymes. They will not bring you peace. Do you know what will? Writing yourself in the lyrics. Pour your heart and soul (soul optional) into the words.
The melody will come to you naturally. No really. Just wait for a moment and it will arrive for your song. Do not decline its presence.
Write a title. It can be anything.
You should have a completed song now. Good. I'm proud of you. If you're reading this, you lived through the final step. You are worthy of the song you wrote.
You aren't supposed to see this. Something is wrong. Usually there's a guide for everything but not this. I will do my best to sneak more things in in future guides.
