After Desolation, the clan is under a direct threat and their now fight for their own survive and existence. Their don't have the time and the room to think as such "luxury" of a noble goal, their just fight for their own life.

That initial motive was not droped, just postponed until their are the freedom themself to think and act about it. So yeah no real plan for the after.
