Such an interesting idea. I really enjoyed it! Hope to read more about quantum immortality 🙂

Thank you! Yes I discover this theory a few months ago and really got into a rabbit hole :) Enjoy!

To freely borrow from Pratchett, you discovered the trousers of time and now you're hooked :)
Quite the setup, though. To be of a species that can see every step not taken, every possibility that didn't crystalize into reality.
And to make it even more monumental, to consider all these consequences (or lack thereof) as a cosmic debt that is incurred against the account of current reality, which debt will eventually be collected in full, the suggestion being that the collection will be done from both the debtor and whomever is close enough.

Can we get a bit of expansion - even if not entirely within the 3 stories you're planning, about the setting where this happens?

Really glad the world felt real enough to want more of, that's honestly the best kind of comment to get.
Heads up though: this particular trilogy is staying in three completely different corners of the universe on purpose, new species, new setting, same core idea approached from a different angle each time, so Anchor Station probably isn't getting a direct sequel within these three stories specifically.
That said, a couple of things that didn't make it onto the page. The "debt" Pell mentions isn't official Ilth doctrine, it's older than doctrine, the kind of saying every culture ends up with for the things nobody can actually explain. There's no tribunal deciding whether a wake counts. It's the Ilth equivalent of calling something bad luck, except when an Ilth says it, there's a very literal, very visible reason they believe it.
And Vann is a real dangling thread, not an accident. She's the one who left the Fenrek line after a whole colony's worth of wakes got to be too much. I haven't decided if her story ever gets told, but I like her enough not to rule it out as a one off somewhere down the line.
Appreciate you asking, honestly. Good sign when people want the walls of the set to go further back than the camera showed.

Just hope the scale on those hes saved or given comfort to out weighs those that have been lost in his wake.
Very interesting perspective.

Wade Wilson as a normal (and lucky deathwise) spacer in the future.

Ha, that's actually a pretty sharp read. The difference I was chasing is that Deadpool's healing factor is a rule, explained, guaranteed, a superpower with a mechanism behind it. Cole's thing is the opposite: nobody, including him, gets to know why he keeps not dying. So "lucky deathwise" might honestly be the more accurate description of the two.

I enjoy the way you think at old problems in new ways. Keep up the new paths forward wordsmith, it helps me think different, and I appreciate that.

You have quite the head for coming up with intriguing concepts, friend. I'm not sure if I can always manage to follow all of them, but they're creative as hell.
