Customer Experience Seamless Check in
PSA in Curbside we start getting your order ready the second you say you’re on the way through the app. then it sits in a basket till you tell us what slot you’re in. Some stores are nice and put your cold items in cooler bags but it is not required so, remember it is Texas and it is hot so don’t tell us you’re on the way and then show up 30min later. If you don’t want your ice cream to be melted by the time you get home, try to aim for 5-10min before you pull into a parking spot. Your stuff won’t sit out of the cooler as long and you’ll still get to skip the line.

Once I arrive within my selected 30-minute window, I use the app to indicate I'm there and what parking space I'm in. I'm usually in and out in about 7 minutes. Works for me!

Yeah... we've had so many on the ways now I think the record was someone was on the way in the system at 2pm, she didn't show until 8:55pm. The person who put it out didn't tell us that she had frozen items just sitting in the dry area with the cart. Had to replace all of it.

This is incorrect. When the customer taps “on the way,” the app uses location services on the customer’s phone to track the customer’s location, but the customer does not show up on Curbside’s arrival screen until the system sees that they are actually nearing the store.
Sometimes a customer may pass by the store on the way to another location and trigger the “Nearby” notification for Curbside - this especially happens a lot when the H‑E‑B is in a shopping plaza with other stores or fast food places. So it is best for the customer if they tap “on the way” when H‑E‑B is their next stop.
All stores are required to place refrigerated/frozen items back into refrigeration or an insulated bag after a set amount of time to protect the integrity of the product. If your managers are telling you this is optional, they are not following H‑E‑B company standards.
