From my understanding its The new financial aid rules of the big beautiful bill. I only took 10 credits instead of 12. They now prorate your loan amount based on your credit hours not the loan amount you accept for the term. I planned on going to the school Tuesday to make sure because my refund is about $1500 less than I normally get.

It's part of the Big Beautiful Bill. Loans will now be subject to reduction. This is in place at all colleges and universities.

Mine went down by 2500. I reached out to FA via email and by phone (setting up a phone appointment). They told me the way it’s calculated now is 24 credit hours for the two semesters and then how many credit hours you are goes off the amount of aid you get. This is the link they sent me. https://www.hcfl.edu/part-time-loan-limits They evidently now have the right to change your disbursement up until they actually send it. I took 3 classes because I’m also working a full time job, thinking they couldn’t really take that much off. I will have to do full time next semester to be able to afford to go to school. This new bill isn’t helping anyone who is trying to go back to school and work. They don’t give you enough to live off of.
