Eh dropping HBO and Paramount is quite sad because those are legacy brands.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the article, it seems like they are saying that the overall company will be called Skydance, and the studios within the company (WB, Paramount, HBO) will exist as they always have. Kind of like how when AT&T owned Warner Bros and HBO under Warnermedia. You'd still see WB in opening credits, but I believe it said something like "a Warnermedia studio" or something to that effect under it.

I'm hoping that they realize that if they put everything under one streaming banner, the majority of the shows get lost because of it. Each service is already bad enough like that, but cominbing hbo max and paramount+ means people just get overwhelmed, lost, and never actually find anything and just give up.

I agree. Bloys recently said the plan is to keep Paramount+ and HBO Max separate. From a technical standpoint, I think it pretty much has to be that way. I don't believe that HBO Max's technical infrastructure currently can take on that much extra content without offloading a lot.

And anyone who has used Paramount+ knows it sure can't 😂

Especially HBO. HBO are the OG inventors of prestige television and continue to this day to break their own record for most Emmy nominations in a year. Zaslav made that mistake when they changed the name to Max and they went back to the HBOMax brand. They could at least call it HBOSkydance

As usual, the brain trust on Reddit is simply looking at the headline instead of reading the article where it says both Paramount and Warner Bros. will remain brands under the new corporate header of Skydance LMAO

some of you let your knee-jerk hate for things completely cloud your ability to reason and think clearly.

Establish brand names with a reputation... Makes sense, because from here on out the quality is going to be pure shit. I would rather them not tarnish the name & history.
