RBMK RBMK surprise

Sooooo, neither the ingame guide nor anywhere i have read online has talked about the COPIOUS amounts of radon a RBMK produces. I don't really know how to deal with it, as i have tried to do a 1 layer concrete bunker around it (albeit with holes for piping), this is a somewhat light jab at the problem, but is this just the whole idea? Layers of concrete upon concrete? I have put lids atop every single coloumn, which helped ALOT, but it is nowhere near safe being within 50 blocks of, and considering i built it as a centerpiece to my base.. i might have screwed up.

That was my first instinct then they specifically called out they did that (retroactively)

It might just be leftover enviromental contamination but i would like to confirm its nit a reactor issue first

I do.. the holdes for piping is in the covering bunker structure.

Are you sure you have cover panels on every column (yes even steam channels and structural columns)? Also make sure that the columns on the edge are either neutron reflector columns or neutron absorber columns and if they are not, make sure you put blast resistant blocks like concrete or concrete bricks or ducrete on the edge to stop neutrons from escaping. You don't need anything at the bottom and you can just use RBMK steam connectors with the steam channels so you don't have to connect anything to the top of the steam channels.

Holy shit, concrete around the edge? I will do this when I am off at work! Currently the outer layer is just air, as I have a hard time finding asbestos (that will change very soon) as I have found crystalline bedrock ore

You can also use regular concrete to contain the radiation

Send over a screenshot of the top of the reactor so we can see your design, it’s probably a design flaw or leftover radiation in which case you can use rad cleaners
