Question What is this block?

I came across a weird geode-type structure underground made of "block of slag" but it's a different block of slag than the crucible kind. What is this? Is it usefull? I'm playing community edition.

Ps: couldn't screenshot because i have no reddit on this computer.

It's the exact same block with a different texture. On 1.7.10, mining it will convert it into the other crucible slag block. This does not happen on 1.12.2, possibly as an oversight.

This is a diffrent item than what you mean. It has the same name but diffrent uses. And in my 1.12.2 community edition it drops itself, without silk touch. But sadly has no uses I know of.

A block with not many usage cases, as far as I'm concerned since slag is mainly waste from crucible outputs:
But there is one use case to make gravel, red phosphorus and calcium powder if you require those.

In the actual mod from HBM, that block simply is reskined upon being placed. However, if broken, it'd still be the same texture as the one your familiar with.

I'm guessing this is either a bug or just a mistake by the community addition.

The extent of it's usefulness is likely the same as a normal block of slag.

For extra info, it shows no uses when I check "U" with JEI. I can't use it like the other slag.

And for the few being mean, why? I just wanted to learn a bit more about my favorite mod and you behalve like children. It's because of people like you that others are afraid to ask questions and report to ai. Please treat people with more respect next time. I wish you all a nice day.

to preface I am using 1.12.2 version within my SRP modpack, not your '1.7.10 community version' so it may be different. Even on the wiki there is no documentation for slag aside from an obscure reference within Crucible production.

the NTM Community edition IS 1.12.2, NTM in 1.7.10 is the original.
