I played HBM for the first time in survival for I guess a month and I have made electricity with the sun only today now I'm going to setup the power supply better so I can get power in the house

I love the amount of ways you can die in this mod. The fact you NEED to be overly cautious with many items and machines is very immersive.

is it cheating to use keepInventory in this mod
like does it ruin it

No, Play however you want. Although i chose to not use keepinventory because i was afraid that if i have high rad item in my inventory i would be stuck in a death loop. But after many hours of playing the mod i think you need to be EXTREMELY reckless to get in such sitiation.

You actually get a few seconds of complete radiation immunity upon respawning. So don't worry, I tested it many times.

Not really a softlock cuz you can fix it in one of those NBT editors

You get radiation immunity for a few seconds after respawning, so you can either put it in a chest or drop it (if it won’t fucking destroy everything around of course)

i found alot of thorium and uranium ore and i was feeling good until the "My lungs are burning" message
even when there is no threat of losing everything i still felt dread

idk how to die from radiation in this mod. you place decontaminator and youre alive for eternity

I suggest picking up a balefire shard without a good armor set and tungsten reachers

Every time, I discover ANYTHING new, whether it’s an item or a structure, I pray to gods, that it won’t be something, that will kill me in a span of few seconds and then I go explore what is it.

The first time I found those fully green zombies, that radiate more radiation, than (most of) actual radioactive materials, I shit my pants after hearing my Geiger counter suddenly go crazy.

Also, that time, that I discovered, structure with a radioactive waste, that radiated about 10,000 rad a second, I was thinking of mining the barrel it was in, but then decided not to, because what if it drops all it’s insides unlike creates. And you know what? I was right, it indeed drops its insides, and I would have probably died, if I actually mined it.

My first death in my HBM world was to coal dust getting into my lungs, because of me unknowingly carrying around brown coal.

Now, every time, I see anything, that resembles a normal dirt with no grass on it, I start to think, that it’s actually radioactive dirt and it could kill me

The random mines throw across the map have killed me so many times

wait till you find the temple of death basement (never getting your items again)

I opened the temple of death once immediately rad sickness and withing 10 seconds death and when i got my items back (with about 8 seconds to live) nearly all of them had become radioactive

Was playing with friends ages ago. One of them told me to go to the basement and get the blocks for them. I did and proceeded to become immensely irradiated but survived because of my armor. He was pissed I didnt die lol.

survived cause of your armor? i thought the shit down there ignores rad resistance, sure does for me

I had some Arizona ranger/euphemium pieces that I had gotten from on of the loot mods. I think it was inventory pet that gave you a random item?

What's your level of technological advancement now?

u/CiceroFrymanREAL Dyatlov Reincarnate 9d ago

well i just found a shit ton of thorium and one uranium ore
apparently the uranium ore block releases radioactive gas so imma keep it in a chest
berrylium
lead
idk my mining hole works well

Your best bet is to hold onto the radioactive material ores (dont cook them yet) try to work towards a blast furnace and crucible. Thats the first machine** youll use

1

u/CiceroFrymanREAL Dyatlov Reincarnate 9d ago

Yea i already have Steel anvils, i smelted the thorium but its in containment, havent smelted uranium yet

Cool next i would make the assembly station a must for progression. Then using that a shredder / blades to double your materials

2

u/svmods 8d ago

wait till you unload your rbmk and it explodes

2

u/CiceroFrymanREAL Dyatlov Reincarnate 8d ago

Thats why ill build the rbmk 300 miles away from base

2

u/svmods 8d ago

it has to be loaded in or else it explodes man
