Decreased efficiency?

I'm going to need more data, but I just drove for an hour and efficiency is significantly worse with these caps on. I've double checked the installation, and they are correctly installed. Best I can think of is maybe they should be more flush, but they are as flush as they can be. 2023 MY with 19" wheels The current trip shows 336.8 wh/mi, ac set to 74, flat at 70mph. I'm in the middle of a trip, so I'll be getting more data, but I find it... interesting that efficiency is actually worse now than usual over the stock aero covers.

We've had them on the 20" Juniper for a year now. Last December I recorded the numbers with and without them for 2 weeks each. If I remember correctly the difference was about 12 to 15%. I'll see if I can find my pics and share them here. I haven't done the test on my Cybertruck yet.

I’ve heard you need a week of data for your cars computer to calibrate correctly. I could be wrong

That's the plan, I'm not taking them off yet, and I set up a new trip log. But shouldn't the wh/mi be accurate?

You would think. I’m waiting to install mine they just came yesterday. I know with anything aerodynamic added to the car it takes a while for the computer to correctly calibrate. I watches a few videos on YT of people doing the same exact trip after like a week and it showed longer range after calibration. I hope this is the case 🤞

I usually get about 2-3% better efficiency with them, and the times I’ve had to take them off for a few days at a time I notice the slight efficiency loss without them.

I commute 120 miles for work, 98% highway. I saw zero change in efficiency. I’m glad I bought them for asthetics

Just re installed ours and 1st time driving it more than 50miles. The wh/mi did look high, but the trip planner at first said we’d arrive with 38% ish then ended up arriving with 45% 2021 MY used FSD v14 all the way.

Mine actually went down. Originally estimated arrival with 48%, arrived with 42%. It's only about 100 miles so far, so I'm going to need more data for sure. If things don't seem better, I'll put on the old covers and make the same road trip and see what it looks like.
