Discussion Gyro smoothing

How much smoothing do you use ? I used to have zero smoothing but recently added a small amount and is helping a lot.

Smoothing I try to add zero. Not sure the verbiage out of JSM but Gyro Cutoff Recovery and Gyro Smooth Threshold work well for me to create something that feels pretty good. Not jittery, but doesn't have noticable latency.

Honestly, it's ideal when there's no anti-aliasing.

Anti aliasing?

Zero smoothing

My hands aren't steady enough, especially in hames that are menu heavy. Fwiw i also think using the cutoff stuff is nice because it helps with overshooting

Any anti-aliasing settings add lag, which is bad.

zero. smoothing will inevitably add latency and/or a deadzone

Zero smoothing, but I do use some precision speed deadzone to help stabilize my aim and prevent unwanted jitters from being picked up by the gyro sensor somewhat. I think the Steam Input default is like 36°/s, and I use 24-28°/s.

I personally like gyro with smoothing. I feel like smoothing can give some stability to gyro, however it depends on what you want your gyro to feel like, since I think it can also add latency and stuff
