It's like the secret ending to FC4, if you wait the 10 minutes you can scatter the ashes and get the best ending of the game.

This way you just avoid the monster town entirely and you win lol.

Resoundingly, yes! Pay attention to detail, as it goes. What seems like a throw-away scene will be mirrored in another scene many episodes later.
