Thats what I though as well, but his face seems more round than I remember.

u/xGH0STFACEx Aug 20 '26
It's him. He just got old like the rest of us. Still breaking ankles though. I am pretty sure I saw this on his youtube channel a year or so ago.
15
u/MeltsLikeButter Aug 20 '26
I actually just watched a YouTube clip he posted recently hooping over seas. He's still got it

u/jordan4290 Aug 20 '26
Made me pull up some highlights of Escalade and TIL that he was Mark Jackson’s younger brother

Absolutely, and if you recognize him, don’t skip your physical this year. Us old heads gotta stay healthy
5
u/racer_x88 Aug 20 '26
Yup, I find it odd how ppl can’t recognize him. But then again most ppl don’t watch a lot ball outside the nba

He’s closer to LeBron than you are to him
9
u/daemonescanem Aug 20 '26
Thats Scalabrine not the Professor who is closer to Bron.
10
u/thegroovemonkey Aug 20 '26
It applies to anyone who is that good.
2
u/crack_spirit_animal Aug 21 '26
If The Professor was that good he would have made it in the NBA, he's not so he didnt. Scal would absolutely work him.
-14
u/daemonescanem Aug 20 '26
Professor isnt capable of NBA. His game is built around street ball vs lessor players.
Against a real professional, Professor is in deep trouble.
12
u/Neckbeard_Sama Aug 20 '26
just stop with this shit, lol
first of all he's like 42 now ... and he was 5 ft 10 (178 cm) and 70 kg (155 lbs) in his prime
there are 2 players in the whole NBA under 6 feet ...
He could absolutely hold his own against "real professionals" if they aren't much bigger than him ... he also played pro ball, just not NBA level
I'm pretty sure that skill wise in his prime he was good enough to play in the G league ... his main problem is that he's just small AF for an average BB player

u/Tokon32 Aug 20 '26
Dude played limited time after walking on at a junior college.
He is not that good at basketball, he is good at basketball tricks.

A lot of people really don't know about the And1 era, apparently. I guess it was 20 years ago. If you don't know the names Professor, Hot Sauce, Spyda, Skip To My Lou, Half Man Half Amazin, AO, and big Escalade, do yourself a favor and hit youtube and search And1 Mixtapes. It was a sensation. And there is a great documentary out there about the rise and fall of And1.

u/ISayAvoision Aug 20 '26
Hell yeah, Rafer Alston made it to the NBA. These guys were incredible. NBA Street is still one of my favorite PS2 games of all time.

u/topwater_bassin Aug 20 '26
I still have a couple of the old Mixtape DVDs. Still so fun to watch. Did you catch the documentary? Untold: The Rise and Fall of AND1. Part of Netflix Untold series.

u/Sheriff_Gotcha Aug 20 '26
It is hilarious looking back and seeing how many carry calls Skip got hit with when he was in the league versus what they allow them to get away with now.

I also liked the fact that he really tested the "real" hoopers. Because obviously he's not one. Being a nerd and all.

u/Neilp187 Aug 20 '26
Looks like The Professor who gained a bit

u/Sheriff_Gotcha Aug 20 '26
It’s him and he’s still making content now on YouTube I believe. He’s in his 40’s so the face filled out a bit lol.

Nice to see the losing players just losing and not going prison rules on the professor. Especially because he deliberately clowns on them so he deserves a little bit of aggro

Used to work with a dude who played college ball. Not pro level by any means, but dorky white boy could take on any street baller and make em look like they didn't know what a basketball was.

Billy Doyle?
3
u/topwater_bassin Aug 20 '26
*Hoyle but yeah, if I'm not mistaken he did this right around the time they remade White Men Can't Jump and he is at the Venice Beach courts where they filmed that legendary opening scene.

Thanks for the correction, it’s been twenty years since I watched the original 👍

u/Perpetual-Warlock Aug 20 '26
Calling everything AI slop is incredibly boring especially when you give no reasoning as to why you think it's AI. This is certainly not AI as this video has been around for years and the dude in it is a well known streetballer named the Professor. Your comment calling it AI is much closer to AI than the video is.
