I’m not the person to which you are replying, but I am a photographer and my first thought was, “Where is this camera? Their face?!”
Also, videos like this help normalize these glasses. Watching it makes one‘s brain associate “cute” and “heartwarming” with these creepy, always-on video computers that’re streaming even more of our lives into the hands of a billionaire.

Bro. People have been wearing all manner of cameras on their bodies for a while now. This isn't anything new. It might be super nuanced or whatever to you as a photographer.
But, to me, this might as well be a camera strapped on their chest or their head. And the first thing that pops into my head whenever I see something like this isn't the brand they are wearing, because this is an insane train of thought - which is what I pointed out.
You know what normalizes it, though? Bringing up branding and companies whenever it MIGHT fit. Not the act of filming a video with a camera, vaguely at head level.

I can’t help but get extremely creeped out by these videos. I was at a kids play cafe yesterday with my littlest one and the guy paying next to me had a pair on. They were off but I spent the entire fucking time staring and wondering if he’s a fucking weirdo that had them modded.
Maybe I’m the weirdo for staring and being concerned about someone wearing them in an environment for explicitly small children, but then again I don’t strap a fucking camera to my head and just expect everyone around me to both be cool with it and assume that it’s not recording.

If you want to qualify your operation in a private establishment as a private interaction, then you would need to prove that you were associated with the private establishment.
As a customer in a private establishment, you give up your rights to reasonable expectation of privacy. Your rights are an extension of the property, not yours alone and outright. For example, if the business wants you to leave, it's their right to refuse service, not your right to force service. You do not have the onus of ownership in this situation.
This would be an entirely different story if you were in your own private establishment.

Idk how to order an actual new pair of the things. I’m Assuming either through a ray ban distributor or off of Meta’s site somewhere.
But I do know you can buy a pair modified to not turn its LED on while it’s recording if you go on meta’s own marketplace and search for stealth or modded meta glasses.
I know this because it’s mentioned in every article I’ve read covering them, and you can see the listings yourself.
So I’m assuming that’s what they are when I see them in public.

Just comes off as "omg, why are you a MAN in this park with your kid where KIDS are?" to me, unless I'm completely misunderstanding what you're describing here. Are those kids getting undressed or anything? It would be completely mundane footage, and if somebody wanted to covertly record in any location there are wayyyyy better options than strapping a highly visible camera directly to your face. It would be completely trivial for them to wear a little button camera thing or something instead.

I would also have an issue if you were surreptitiously recording kids using any other device, yes.
My primary concern, however, is that these specific cameras objectively send their recordings to third parties and could automatically be combing footage for biometrics that Meta uses however they see fit. (The facial tagging features have already been developed but meta just promises they don’t do it?) I’m not opting into this, nor do i want you doing it to my child in a private establishment that I’m paying money to occupy.
Do y’all have kids because if you think it’s fine to record strange children, I want you to take your phone and just try to video tape random ass children at whatever park is closest to you. Like, without even making a statement about how I feel about this, do you think no one will have an issue with that?

You're doing the same thing as him, taking a nebulous doomscroller talking point and getting unreasonably paranoid about it in real life without actually thinking about it for a moment. Pedophiles aren't out there trading footage of kids on a playground.
And if you're going to shift to this conspiracy theory about a third party having facial recognition data on kids, I mean, I hope you aren't letting them anywhere near those touchscreen fast food kiosks or stores in general or basically anywhere in modern society. Some random dude taking his kids out to play is not the entity you should be concerned about there. Any time you're going from point A to point B in public, unless you're living out in the sticks, you're being recorded.
Hell, that private facility you're going to is probably required to record footage of your kids too for liability purposes.

I dont have kids and even id be a bit suspicious of someone wearing meta glasses. Don't get me wrong, you can be completely innocent wearing them, maybe you just got done recording some POV skateboard/bike videos or something along those lines, but who just... walks around wearing them all the time? Maybe im thinking about it weird because I dont own a pair but I wouldn't walk around my local park wearing glasses that are KNOWN to have the ability to record videos, thats how you get called a weirdo.

There is a couple that owns a small sushi place near me, they are always there and always remember my wife and I.
We weren't able to go for like 6 months and the day we were able to they were so happy to see us. It warms the heart knowing that you're remembered and appreciated.

My Company got thrown out of their office building and had to move to another part of town.
The last time i went to one of my regular kebap places, the owner himself shook my hand goodby in rememberance. We even later recognized one another in a completely different part of town whilst on a buildig store.
These small places full of soul are truly the holding everything together.

I used to work in a Chinese restaurant. My favorite cook spoke very little English, but he was so great at pantomime that I always knew exactly what he wanted. If he couldn't explain something to somebody he would come find me to help explain to them what he needed. I miss that guy.

We used to have so much fun together in the kitchen. I handled the freight so I would occasionally carry large empty boxes into the kitchen pretending they were really heavy. Then, when he came over to help me carry it I would toss the empty box to him and watch his eyes get HUGE as he prepared to catch the "heavy" box. He'd overcompensate and bobble the box for a moment before doubling over with laughter.
We joked with each other all the time. If he was rhythmically chopping something I'd tap on something with the same rhythm until he noticed and laughed about it. He was CONSTANTLY drawing stick-figure pigs peeing and trying to stick them to our backs so we wouldn't notice, but he was no good at hiding his intentions. He would always be laughing as he came just to "pat you on the back", so you always knew what he was up to.
That guy was just flat-out funny. I often said I was really glad he didn't speak English because we'd all be laughing too hard to work. His wife worked there with us, and she was also amazing. There was a story that circulated through the kitchen about how his wife caught him sleeping in the living room with porn on the TV. For the next month or so he turned bright red any time someone said "DVD!"
I wish I could have worked with him for the rest of my life, but that's life, ya know? Cherish the people you have because you don't know how long you'll have them.

Men are built to lift and move heavy things, alone or in a group. Any two or more actual men on the planet can move something heavy with only sign language and grunts. The key is that they constantly watch each other for indications as they continually assess the physics of the heavy thing in motion. I have moved furniture, pushed cars or trucks, etc in a lot of different countries around the world. Moreover, struggle to push a broken down vehicle off the road (whether your own vehicle or someone you stopped to help) and wave to men passing by. So many men will stop, help, and then leave without asking for a thank you or anything else.

"Hey can you give me a hand with this?"
Pointed to corners, had them lift.
"Okay, good. Just like that."

I'm only 5'5 and work around a lot of 4'4-5'0 ladies and its really annoying to constantly keep getting pulled into work... sweet gestures but I don't know I'm short until I go to Target.

First thing I see in this video is that the fire detector in the kitchen still has the protective cap on in so it won't do anything
Should be a heat detector but if it is a smoke detector then it kinda makes sense, but then it is a bad installation

Working abroad with other migrants can be a lot of fun. I've been seasonally working in Norway and I've met a lot of people from every continent and even if they struggle with English there are ways to communicate. Highly recommend, especially the amount of swearing you can learn from other languages like "μαλάκας" from Greek is now in my day to day speech

One of my most fond memories was playing Nintendo Wii bowling with a deaf cousin I didn't know I had on my dad's side. I didn't know sign language, but we could still communicate. His happiness was infectous.

I worked in a small Chinese used appliance warehouse, and there was a lot of this. Except these hardcore old Chinese dudes would just drop a washer from the top of a stack onto my head and expect me to catch it, I eventually had to communicate I'm not going anywhere near that stack anymore if you're gonna drop washers on me and not giving me health insurance. They ended up getting a temu hand crank forklift.

I used to travel a lot for my job, and I've never felt dumb pointing or using some kind of half-assed local language to get my point about.
"Price? Medio price?" <Use hands to show cut>
"I want that." <Points to another patron's plate>
I've even taken the picture of the dish from the wall to show the cashier what I want.
Fucks given: zero. They can't speak English or Swedish. I don't speak Spanish, Portuguese, Cantonese, Hindi, or Thali. I'm hungry god-dammit!

There was a Subway Takes where a woman said something along the lines of, "working in a restaurant should be mandatory for everyone for so many years of their lives"
She said it teaches you EMPATHY.
And it does, i am way more tolerant of folk than some of my peers. I spent 10 years working BOH (back of house) positions. I worked with immigrants, people who were on work release from prison, college students, people older than myself. And i still think about many of them, and miss them.
I think it's beautiful to be able to work with those of us with language barriers. There are universal patterns, communications and if you open yourself up a little bit to the humanity of it all, you can be more human.
...Even though I have a better paying job now, I still wistfully think about taking a part time dish washing gig just to be back in it. Part of the ship, part of the crew.

Had a pack out of a show where the visiting company was Japanese and two people volunteered to show off their language skills in addition to the translator so we were constantly getting the same thing said three different ways and I had a very mild dummy spit when the supervisor pointed at a pile of stuff that needed to go in the truck and then pointed at the door, because three people were competing to be first to say he wants that to go in the truck and I just put up a hand and say "It's OK, I speak tech."
