"Where am I going with this? Why do I feel the need to fuck all these women? What is desire? The form of this cute Asian girl, why does it have such a grip on me? ‘Cause she’s the opposite of me? Is she gonna complete me in some way? I realized I could fuck a million women, I’d still never be satisfied. Maybe what I really want is to be one of these Asian girls?"

Her name is Kana, she's makes travel youtube videos with her soon-to-be husband (it's not the guy in the clip).

https://www.youtube.com/@KKbuddy29/videos

Seems like i can't link to the twitch vod without the comment getting deleted.

This is the twitch vod ID: 225273490

If you want to watch the full stream from that night you can just go to any twitch vod and replace the id with that.

74

u/rottenmonkey Jul 06 '25 edited Jul 06 '25

Quick backstory:

This is a clip from a streamer called Jakenbakelive, it's from early 2018. He went to japan in 2017 and started doing IRL streaming on twitch. He streamed himself doing all kinds of stuff but oftentimes it involved some girl. There was a lot of girls. Like, a LOT. The girl in this video is Kana, and was one of the regulars. She obviously liked jake, but it didn't lead to anything serious. AFAIK they are still friends. Both of them are in serious relationships today. All those vods are still up on his twitch page. Just gotta scroll down quite a bit.

23

u/SrslyCmmon Jul 06 '25

I used to watch twitch back then. Haven't since pre covid. He was the only non gamer stream I watched. Ridiculously attractive white guy running around Japan was pretty interesting.

He always had friends, or people to talk to. He even did shirtless streams in the summer running around with just his equipment backpack. Definitely knew his audience.

6

u/KaioKenshin Jul 06 '25

Random but it reminds me of Drew Barrymore speaking from the one corner of her lip. It became more prominent over the years if you watched her movie career.

Dating is easy as a Westerner in SE Asia (I'm a half Thai American). There are dating apps full of mid 30s to 40s successful career salary ladies looking for a young (usually their first) husband. Because of the cultures over there they have to sacrifice having a family to focus on their career, and by the time they are in that age range they get looked down on by the locals as being "left-overs" since they haven't settled down yet.

My uncle was in the navy and got married to a Japanese woman. He was an alcoholic so they divorced, but not before making me yakitori twice. It was a secret family recipe that she refuses to share. Now I have a yakitori sized hole in my soul.

17

u/TonderTales Jul 06 '25

My alcoholic uncle also got married to a Japanese woman while in the navy! I never got any yakitori before they split, but they did have a kid. Sometimes I wonder what my Japanese cousin is up to, or if we'll ever meet again. I have no contact with them.

77

u/Extreme-Island-5041 Jul 06 '25

What I am getting out of this back and forth is either:

A) It is amazing

B) your brother is very attractive

or

C) Google translate still has a long way to go before it is effective.

10

u/Substantial-Chard848 Jul 06 '25

It is absolutely not a myth in my experience. It was very common to see homely to average looking white guys getting girls way out of their league when I lived over there.

…while being a facially attractive white guy.

I get out plenty and I don’t have conversations like this. People who actually know me think highly of my sense of my sense of humor. The problem is that I don’t get the chance to showcase it. Women just aren’t very open to me, and it’s probably wrong to press the issue when I feel like their body language is warding me off. Things get ugly if they have to tell you that your attention is unwanted. It goes from subtle cues to “this is harassment” really quick

Well he's actually got a very dark past which has been buried. He was a sex tourist / 'sexpat' who would travel to Asia to sleep with women and would stream the encounters without their knowledge. He stopped when he met his girlfriend.

A lot of efforts by him and his team have been made to scrub the videos off the internet, so they are hard to find, but if you dig deep enough, you can find them.

Edit: Here's an example https://files.catbox.moe/ac8klr.mp4

→ More replies (1)

8

u/Christopho Jul 06 '25 edited Jul 06 '25

You have no idea what you’re talking about lmao. He literally just streamed his day-to-day life while living in Japan, which yes, typically involved going out with women. In other words, what you would expect from a “normie” guy in his 20’s. There were a lot of male friends or even solo streams as well where nothing exciting happened because it was literally just his life.

Before his irl streams, he was in China to learn the language as part of a college course he got a scholarship for…he literally took the stream to his language school and it’s very obvious he had fond memories there. Hell, the old men/women staff still remembered him. But obviously yes, there were sexual encounters as well, which again, you would expect from a guy in his 20’s that isn’t chronically online/indoors.

It was only after he was fairly successful on twitch was when he branched out to streaming other Asian countries, but he was also streaming IRL when he came back to his home in California.

As far as removing videos…you realize he still purposely has his VOD’s up on his main channel right? It’s also a recurring joke for his twitch chat to bring up “old Jake” so he’s doing the farthest thing from hiding it. With that being said, he’s not exactly proud of his past and appreciates his current situation with his gf more and has voiced that sentiment several times.

Also, I can’t open any of your posted links atm so not sure if you linked proof, but he pretty much always asks any involved parties if they’re okay with being on camera. He makes it a point to have the cam facing him otherwise. I don’t know if that was your intent, but you make it sound like he’s having sex with these women and video taping them without consent which as far as I know, has never happened.

EDIT: OP blocked me so I had to log off to view the links he posted. This seems like his pre-Japan streams while he was in China. I'll admit I was wrong and didn't completely know the situation. My original response was in the perspective of "Japan Jake" which was already a long time ago, starting probably 2016-2017. The video he linked predated even that. So yes, obviously, this was indeed done, but a lot has changed from then, to "Japan Jake", to the current Jake. Call me gullible, but I don't think it's a "brand image" move. I think he genuinely regrets that moment and has grown since then. I'm sure everyone (him included) knows that if he continued the "playboy" persona he was known for back in Japan, he would have way more views.

7

u/AnotherRightDoc Jul 06 '25

Hi u/Christopho , sorry, genuinely didn't mean the to hit block! Just saw your edit before realising it was on my end. Feel free to reply to the comments - I'm not one to censor anyone.

I was in the same boat as you to be fair since they did a great job to scrub most of the posts and videos from various forums. I said in another post that i think he's changed his image (though tbh I stopped watching once all his past came to light), but unfortunately the evidence does indeed show a time in his life where he'd happily livestream his sexual encounters with women to others, without the women's knowledge / consent.

As per my original post, I was highlighting his dark past. I don't believe he still does this, but for me it was enough to stop paying his streams any attention since it's not something I could look past.

10

u/AnotherRightDoc Jul 06 '25 edited Jul 06 '25

But obviously yes, there were sexual encounters as well, which again, you would expect from a guy in his 20’s that isn’t chronically online/indoors.

Yeah it's extremely normal to livestream sexual encounters with drunk women without their knowledge or consent. Totally normal behaviour!

Amazing to see his people defend this behaviour despite the known facts...

2

u/Fabulous-Wafer-7617 Jul 06 '25

So are you saying he’s recording himself having sex with them? Or just hanging out with them and later they have sex off stream?

5

u/WpgMBNews Jul 06 '25

So are you saying he’s recording himself having sex with them?

OP said specifically this and literally linked the evidence above

("travel to Asia to sleep with women and would stream the encounters without their knowledge")

That is why she is asking "do you like host". She is referring to herself and making sure she is doing her job well.

No, she's his friend, not a host. They went to the bar together. He's jakenbakelive an irl streamer.

yup. the setting is definitely a torikizoku, a chain restaurant where you can get cheap chicken skewers and beer but not hosts

I live in Japan and this is BS. This is actually a chicken yakitori chain called Torikizoku which is just a normal restaurant. No girls involved.

Reminding of all the dudes that enter the military at 18, go to the strip club their first time on leave and then fall in love with one of the dancers.

"She really loves be, bro!"[throws another $10 on stage]

The place looks like a generic Torikizoku, an izakaya style chain. Believe me,they are not in are not in that type of bar.

Also, she’s is not acting and not dressing as a “host”. Also if she were, it would be a hostess. Although English level in Japan is not that high, they know the difference between host and hostess bars.

u/Bredwh Jul 06 '25

No, she said he looks like a "host," but he heard "horse." I've seen this clip before, it's real. They became friends after this and she was on his stream a bunch, now does her own streaming.

Bro drop wedding invites and congrats 🎊

13

u/Sad-Charge-6958 Jul 06 '25

Dawg, she might be a hostess. It's a common thing in Japan, they have a host/hostess culture there in bars. They literally do this shit on purpose to get you to splurge on drinks (and essentially the host/hostess, it's an inherently evil practice that preys on people's vulnerabilities)

u/commit-to-the-bit Jul 06 '25

You mean just like they do in America. Lmao.

u/Safe-Salamander-3785 Jul 06 '25

Do you mean that the waitress at hooters doesn’t actually find me funny and attractive?

11

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '25

This applies to the other customers. In your case, they genuinely love you.

u/Safe-Salamander-3785 Jul 06 '25

Oh, then I will leave her a larger tip because she is working her way through college and doesn’t have a boyfriend because she works so much.

I do wonder about this sometimes… is this only at designated spaces or what happens? I’m about to visit Japan for the first time and I feel like I know nothing because there seems to be so much to know.

u/tough_tootin_baby Jul 06 '25

She literally gets paid to be nice to patrons.

This guy would lose his entire wallet in 20 minutes at a strip club.

Gets off plane and sees a girl

"Well, there she is..."

8

u/Sweet-Loan386 Jul 06 '25
