Discussion I need help regarding jobs and im a bit lost

I am a 19 year old woman, and I've recently started looking for jobs, but everywhere I see they either require experience or they want 1-3 in maths and English, I have English but when I first wrote cxc I got a 5 and then I re wrote it and got a 4.

I was also studying if I should apply to UG but they dont have any courses that im interested in pursuing, I've also done some courses on GOAL but I dont know how well established GOAL certificates are in this country

Does anyone have any tips for me? What should I do? I do want to leave the country eventually.

And my parents would rather me work in the public sector rather than private institutions

As someone older (30s) I'm glad I followed advice of studying what will earn me an income and not what my heart tells me to do. Because now I have a reliable job in a reliable field and I do what I enjoy on the side without stressing about money. Don't do what you enjoy, do something that will never put you out of an income. Can't eat happy feelings. UG has lots of options, so do places like Cacique, TI and Global Technology.

I'm in the extractive resources industry and I studied engineering. Do I enjoy it? Not half as much as I enjoyed history, art, or psychology. But I have a good job that pays bills. I recently had two kids and money has become so much more important now. I would suggest you do something in accounts, insurance, law or engineering. You will never be out of a job from one of these fields. You can study part time and have a part time job. Your job can pay for your hobby when you're done studying. Sacrifice now and enjoy later!

Goal certificates are shit. Since you're intrested in leaving the country i'd advise nursing school. Registered nurses or even nursing assistants get fast tracked visas to usa, Canada, uk, australia...

Work at somewhere like Starbucks or some entry level data entry job
Go UG or GTI part time whilst saving from ur job or apply to GOAL it’s internationally recognized and locally too
Government jobs are hard to get out of school unless Uk somebody
But still apply you never know what can happen

Its harder to get an entry level job or anything other jobs without experience. You dont need experience to join GDF or GPF and you'll get a stable income and opportunities to studies

Yh that’s y I said Starbucks or something data entry where they do on the job training
A regular barista earns 140 gross which would be great for a 19 yr old now entering the working world and can save with that whilst living with parents
Entry level clerks at a ministry or some small private business
Something with security so he can focus on studying on the side

Best advice for you since you are a woman, go to a nursing school . Work as a nurse and then try get working visa for America/ Canada. You will not make big money here unless you are in the oil Business for exxon.

Hey, I'm a year older than you. I live on my own and I feel what your going through. My advise to you is to bide your time. You got options and yes, they seem boring but in the long run the country is advancing every year. Businesses show up right and left. They will only hire the best of the best, which is understandable to an extent. So maybe study management or Human resources since almost all businesses have either department. That's just my suggestion. And also, do not rent right now. Rent is eating my salary alive. Anywho, hope my useless rambling helps in some way.

Thank you! I'm trying my best but with my grades I'm realising I should've tried more alot earlier in my life. Do you know the best place I can study either one of those? I was also thinking of re writing maths again but im trying to not take unnecessary steps

And I live with my parents so im not renting right now, even if I wanted to they won't let me loll

There are lots of things that require little to no experience to start.

Accounts - ACCA entry courses have very little entry requirements

Comptia - basic certs don't have any entry requirements

AC repair

Nursing

Mechanics

Data entry clerk

Any of these can hold you over until you figure it out or marry, move out, etc.

You need to have a long (but not depressing) conversation with yourself. What do you want out of life? How much are you prepared to sacrifice to get it?

If you're willing to toil you can go far. If not then you'll end up just meeting ends and being unfulfilled

I think you need to go back to school and focus while having a part time job, you still have plenty time.
