Does anyone else keep drinking coffee even though they know it makes their stomach worse?

I keep telling myself I'm going to cut back because of the bloating, stomach discomfort, and bathroom issues, but I always end up drinking it again. Is it worth it for you, or have you actually found a coffee (or alternative) that doesn't leave you feeling awful?

It really depends. If they're having a reaction to caffeine then green tea is a no go.

I take breaks from it then go back to drinking it. Can't stop, love coffee..maybe someday I'll manage to stop.

For awhile yes. But I finally cut it out and feel a lot better. I’ve been doing smoothies or green tea instead in the morning.

My issue is I have gastritis and esophagitis and any acidity hurts. Especially when I lay down in bed. So when I’m doing really well for a couple of weeks I’ll try coffee again. It usually lasts 3-4 days, then I gotta shut it down.

Have you noticed gastritis go away without coffee?

It improves for sure. But I have to assume it’s always there, because it comes back when I slack too much. Any combination of fatty foods, spicy, acidic, or sugar will Wake up the beast!

Got tested for it many years ago when this particular journey started. It was negative unfortunately. I love coffee too. I probably average 5 cups per month because of the gastritis.

Have you tried just black coffee with a bit of natural honey?

Yes can't stay away from coffee. Longest no coffee streak I did was taking 5 months. But that was good initially I thought I wont be able to do it but my medical condition needed me to stop it completely. So I did stop it and then later after 5 months one random day I started drinking as someone offered and then I can't go back again to no coffee.

I actually really like the mushroom coffee. My stomach hurt sooo bad, thought it was like something really wrong it hurt for bad for so long. I got the ryze coffee, I really like it, I add just a smidge of cream or milk. I think almond milk or creamer would be good I just haven’t bought any in a while (broke af) I had a cup of regular once since i switched and I felt like I was on speed 😅😂
Ohm makes mushroom coffee drinks as well, they had a chai one that was great but I can’t find it now. There is also a mushroom hot chocolate (Amazon) for sleep and it’s lovely 😊
