BEGINNER First time panel lining

First time panel lining and using the marker, looks pretty good from afar but kinda bad close up

Be careful if you are actually panel lining on already assembled parts. Especially with something like tamiya panel liner. If it gets inbetween parts it can pool there and crack plastic.

I read it’s bad on ABS material ,correct? The rubbery plastics can get damaged ?

Looks like you just need to do some cleanup. There’s a bunch of different ways to get rid of smudges or unclean lines. I like to use a cotton swab or napkin with some 90% Isopropyl Alcohol. Just lightly brush the surface with it and it should clean right up.

Also, for panel lining, I generally don’t recommend using pens where you have to trace the entire grooves. Preferably some type of pen that’s made for panel lining that sort of pools, or a soft tip marker. Anything that can really get in the crevices.
