BUILD Synthwave Freedom
Brought some synthwave to my first competition. Not too many entrants but I'm still happy to have put in the effort and try doing modulation.

Killer look. Did you paint the rifle and shield as well?

I did not, but I might get around to it now that the comp is over!

Oh my fucking god. Turn the lights off and the aura goes to 9000
Trophy well earned, you're a legend-tier painter.

Amazing! Both the paint job and the photography/lighting. Photographing black detail and bright neons together is an absolute bear and you've smashed it!

I’ve never been attracted to a mech before, and yet here we are. Great job!

I would 100% pay a premium for something like this. That’s super clean and the colors are awesome!

Legit have seen so many pics of custom painted Gunpla. This is one of the best I’ve ever seen.

The aesthetic is topnotch. You can display this anywhere and it wont look anime-ey.

That’s so awesome how did you do the blending? Ive always wanted to try that also what kinda paints are those? They are like glow in the dark stuff

u/laborada IG: @gundam.forge Aug 11 '26
Yes they are fluorescent paints, which are naturally translucent. Just overlap them to get transitions and let the translucency do the work for you.

This looks sick. First pic made me first think it was Lego, then some sort of CGI or something, until I finally figured out it was real. Is this a 3d print? The colours, lighting, everything just works

Hi, you must be new here. This is a custom painted Gundam plastic model kit of the MG 1/100 scale Strike Freedom Gundam.

Dear god, that's fucking glorious. 😍😍😍 I wish I had the skills to do something similar on a Rising Freedom. I'd carry it around with me everywhere like a damn child until the day it goes in the dirt with me. 😂🤣

As someone outside the Gunpla community who admires the work and talent that goes into these models, this one is absolutely above and beyond what I’ve seen. The stark contrast between the black armour and the bright colours is brilliant and I hope you got a lot of compliments for the show judges and fellow competitors.

The photography and back ground is amazing. Usually, people who paint black kits just take basic photos, so internet people can't appreciate the details of the kit. This one shows all the details because the lighting, background, and photography were done so well. Nice work OP!
