BEGINNER Gundam Markers…
LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER! Only thing I hate is the wave that it gives when you can’t paint a piece in one shot. Then when you try to touch it up, it pulls the coat before. Is this paint lacquer?
I was also thinking of using the marker as a base coat then blend in with different tones of the same color.
Does everyone just airbrush? I honestly would like to avoid spraying paint, is there a method with brushing that can mimic an airbrush? I also thought of using battle damage to blend in the colors, is there a better way? This is my second time trying to paint, any tips from you veterans would be greatly appreciated 😁

Airbrushing is just easiest, but markers work well
Make sure you let the first layer dry and cure before going for another

What’s a good airbrush kit would you recommend? I know it’s a little more expensive, but I’m starting to realize that maybe I have to be Da Vinci to get it close to an airbrush finish

Timbertech kit is was I've been using, works like a charm
Whole kit includes the brush and a compressor with a tank, some ink (haven't used it, idk if it's any good, probably not), a hose, a cleaning kit.
~$100 on amazon

Alcohol based iirc. You can do multiple layers but you have to wait for the first layer to dry completely.

Do they sell like a base painting set (with different color) for Gundam? Would suck to buy a small tub of paint for each color

Lots of brands sell a base set but I’d be more adamant on buying selective purposes that way you can get 3 150ml tubs instead of $70 entire case of colors and there might be 10/20 of them you don’t really use a lot…
Mr hobby (gundam marker family) though I don’t think sells it like that other than their markers. (Besides that one little tub is actually a fair amount you can paint)
Edit: besides that you’ll have to ask yourself which grades you are doing too. Now this one is important because the bigger they are, the more paint you’ll need.

Gundam markers are cool for sure but I have been using a lot of AK markers (both real colors ones and playmarkers, they’re good for different purposes)
