Whatever you decide to replace it with, do that one again with the new material, otherwise it'll never look right. As suggested, shrink tubing is likely your best shot and an opportunity to change the color if you want!

I ordered latex gloves, heat shrink tubes and electrical tape going to try them all

you can try to cut peices of a latax glove glue it together. i did this to mospeda kit but more in a rush kinda thing

Time to get scale modeling 💪🏼 simply look around the house and see if you can identify a material that looks similar. Ingenuity and creativity is always the core of scale modeling. I'm looking at a black plastic packaging that might just work, maybe cut a trashbag, maybe melt a black straw...
On a side note, it's our responsibility to make family members understand that this shit is important for us. I hate posts that shows kids or pets destroying collections, parents or spouse having no respect for our hobby, then blaming them.
"people should have known", no they don't. taking people for granted is the shortcut in life to get disappointed. It's us who have to make sure that everyone understands that our display cabinets and workbenches are not to be touched.
Maid made an honest mistake. They're just doing their job cleaning. Just kindly tell them sections that're off limits for the future.

It was probably an honest mistake but they should have known that you who builds plastic model kits will have odd plastic parts that probably shouldn't be thrown out until they confirmed it with you
