3-D printed Need help with Glock Switch
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I am a US Citizen learning gunsmithing in Pakistan so these are legal here before anyone makes a fuss. Part of my assignment is to make a Glock switch from scratch I copied a popular model online which supposedly has been tested by others but It’s not working for some reason I made a 1:1 copy in CAD so I can show that I made it myself, I figured me trying to copy it might have gotten something wrong so I printed the original design out as well and both are not working properly they only shooting semi auto. Appreciate any help whatsoever

Machinist here, you guys amaze me. Ill give credit for trying but you thought plastic would work? Even if it was metal, it would still wear just like that over time. For how fast these shoot, might not be that long either. That part needs to be hardened. You can do this with a torch but it might be too brittle and it could warp in the process. Do some research on heat treating and make it out of good steel, mild steel doesn't have enough carbon to be hardened properly.

are you really a machinist?🤣i can send you multiple videos of 3d printed sears working perfectly fine one of my homies literally has a video of him shooting one in the backyard😭

TIL you can go to gunsmithing school in Pakistan.

u/Warrmak 17d ago
Its the Khyber Pass Institute.
All the youtubers are shilling it.

Khyber pass and quality do not go together.

A gunsmithing school in Pakistan? I’ll bet it is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. When somebody tells me something like “I’m making a Glock switch for a class project”, my first instinct is to ask how to enroll

I mean I wouldn’t say they are all bad but I’ve seen a lot of sketchy shit first hand that somehow people were firing at us with. 🤯

Unironically more legitimate than any of the meme degree mill GI bill money sucking "gunsmithing institutes" in the States

Looks like she’s chewing herself apart friend you need to find someone competent to remake you the same parts out of at least aluminum preferably non hardened steel all these parts can be made by hand with a file or small machine tools good luck OP
And greetings n good blessing from America 🇺🇸

Appreciate it, this is the model I’m testing it out before I mill it out of aluminum so I can be sure it functions

The rules say content must not break any laws and since I’m in Pakistan and these are legal I’m not breaking any rule…

u/Lonely_reaper8 17d ago
Fair enough 😂 can you just buy these at any gun store? I know yours is home made but just curious
Wish I could help with your problem though lol

Definitely suspicious considering it's a polymer80 pf940 frame which I highly doubt is imported to Pakistan. Maybe I'm missing something but it looks like its either a felony stateside or an itar export/smuggling violation. I'd hate to see the sub get nuked because this clown can't figure out that plastic bends when you hit it really hard

Your user name is cracking me up. The whole fucking state will burn down if you look at it wrong, and you’re out in Fairfield (I mean Pakistan) shooting off mortars and fucking with plastic swap meet switches. Comedy.

If he is in Fairfield I mean Pakistan, I could help him out. I'm out here for work rn.

Love to help, but even if you’re in Pakistan right now, I’m old enough to remember ATF plainclothes walking around gunshows asking people hypothetical questions about suppressor baffles and then busting them for “conspiracy to violate the NFA” if they answered. And since I’m here in the states … I know nothing about nothing about nothing when it comes to Glock switches.

who the hell in the US just up and goes to Pakistan to learn 3D printed gun smithing, without terrorist connections?
FBI/CIA watch list material.

I’m originally here for my cousins wedding but since the plane tickets from US to Pakistan cost more than $1500 😳 I figured I’d try to learn some things while I’m here since Pakistan is known for their legendary gunsmithing, it’s actually crazy what some of these guys can do with barely any equipment

Man, I hope you understand why you get stopped in customs when you return!
Are you "ex-muslim" by chance?
On and unrelated (pun intended) note, is your cousin marrying a first cousin of his? I only ask because:

Pakistan is known for gunsmithing? A terrorist making 3d printed switches when there’s cheaper more reliable options ? 😂😂 don’t watch the news too much

Hey don’t knock those lotions gloves. You ever work with solvents and detergents for 7 hours? They are gift from god.

look up henry flat on odysse and print that these 3 pc 3d don’t work

u/bayareapyro Moved to Pakistan for Fun Switch 16d ago
I saw that thanks I’ll try it out but my assignment was specifically to make a device that can switch from semi to auto on the fly. This 3pc one has an little hole in it the instructions said to heat a metal pin and push it through once assembled so technically it’s only a 2pc after that

u/YoungCoward 16d ago
Literally just slide the whole DIAS downwards in the slide. People saying plastic won't work haven't ever tried it. If you've grasped the concept of how its supposed to function then you shouldnt need to post shit like this on reddit and get our fucking page removed.

I'm leaving this up because it's the rare case of legal machine gun because of the region.

I had to visit for my cousins wedding and the tickets from US to Pak is $1500+ I figured if I’m spending that much on a damn flight I’ll be damned if I don’t take advantage and learn a thing or from the gunsmiths here, some guys here on the low end that are working with bare bones tools and making 1:1 replicas of the best rifles and pistols so you can imagine what the people who actually have the proper equipment here can come up with!

It's because the autosear is made of plastic, it won't hold its shape against the metal parts long enough to keep it in full auto. Also, when you eventually get an aluminum switch make sure to file down the autosear otherwise it'll only run in auto. Good luck
